Several cracks had appeared across the surface of the homeowner's concrete driveway, caused by soil settlement and underlying tree roots that caused the slabs to heave.
The appearance of thin horizontal and stair-step pattern hairline cracks alarmed the homeowner, prompting them to have their foundation inspected.
The soil underneath the home's foundation has become unstable, resulting in the piers supporting the floors above settling.
During the crawl space inspection, the LRE Design Specialist quickly identified that the home's wooden support joists were sloping due to insufficient stable support beneath them.
Stair-step cracks had formed in the exterior walls of the home, leading the homeowner to seek professional assistance for a reliable repair solution.
Before the installation of the new drainage system, the back porch of the home had encountered flooding issues. The original downspout from the gutters above had directed a substantial amount of rainwater around the foundation below.
Situated right at the front of the home, the emergence of this trip hazard due to settling concrete posed a significant safety concern for the homeowner.
LRE begins excavating where the new underground drainage system will go.
