Crawl Space Encapsulation in Richmond, Kentucky

This home's crawl space was exposed to the open earth, which was allowing moisture to come in. When moistures is in a crawl space, it can lead to mold. We blocked the moisture out by installing CleanSpace walls and drainage matting. These products also help the owner save money on energy bills by blocking out the cold.

Crawl Space Moisture Sealing in Richmond, Kentucky

This crawl space was having trouble keeping moisture out, so we agreed to help the owner seal it completely, and then add a dehumidification system. We sealed it by installing CleanSpace lining with drainage matting everywhere. We then installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to further wick out moisture.

Musty Smell Removed from Crawl Space in Richmond, Kentucky

The family that lived in this home was noticing musty smells on the first floor of the home above the crawl space. We did a complete crawl space makeover by encapsulating, waterproofing, dehumidifying, wood replacing, mold cleaning, and insulating.

Sealing a CrawlSpace from the Outside Elements in Richmond, Kentucky

To fix all the problems with this crawl space we installed our normal 4-step process:

  1. First we fixed the ground water leakage problems by installing a SmartSump sump pump and connected it to perforated pipes around the perimeter and under the floor of the crawl space.
  2. We then sealed the crawl space from the elements using CleanSpace lining, which will block out moisture. We also installed vent covers over the vents to stop the crawl space from bringing in moisture ridden air.
  3. Next, we installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, which will dehumidify the crawl space, eliminating the need for ventilation. The dehumidifier hooks up to the pump to be able to discharge all the water from the air that it collects.
  4. Lastly, we insulated the crawl space by installing SilverGlo panels all along the walls and spraying rim joist insulation foam all along the beams. This allowed for us to remove the moldy, heavy fiberglass seen in the ceiling.

This crawl space was receiving a decent amount of moisture, which wasn't mixing too well with the dirt. The customers were tired of the smell, so we agreed to help them out.
