Comment I have a concrete walkway on one side of the house, and it has settled on the side adjacent to the house, so that roof runoff water actually flows toward the house. I have heard of a process whereby a material is injected underneath a cement slab to push it upwards. Is this something that your company does?

Comment Hello, We are looking to have some work done on our home. We are writing to see if your company might do this type of project, and if so, if we could discuss our options with you and could get an estimate of how much it would cost to have the work done. We own a single-family Cape-style home on the West Side of Worcester, MA. The house was built in 1926, and we have owned it since 1998. There is an enclosed porch on the front of the house. If you are standing in the street looking towards the house, the porch takes up about two-thirds of the length of the front of the house, to the left and center. The porch has no foundation under it. The remaining one-third of the front of the house, to the right, is a room that is actually part of the house (this room has no direct access to the porch, and has a foundation under it). The roof of the house extends out over both the porch and the room next to it, and there is a dormer containing an upstairs bedroom that is partially above both the porch and the room next to it. So even though the porch doesn't have a foundation under it, it is somewhat integrated into the overall structure of the house. When we first bought the house in 1998, the porch was very old, and we noticed that it was sagging a bit. I'm not sure if it was the original porch from when the house was first built, but it had to be several decades old. Due to the sagging, some of the windows on the side of the porch would not open and close properly. There was also some settling apparent in the floor of the upstairs bedroom that is partially over the porch. Around 2005, to address these problems, we had the porch rebuilt. The person who did it tore the porch down to its ceiling and interior walls, and essentially built a whole new porch. We had thought that the porch rebuild would mean that we wouldn't need to worry about the porch anytime in the foreseeable future. Over the past year or two, unfortunately, we have become aware that the new porch is now sagging, probably at least as badly as the old one was before it was torn down. The person who built the new porch apparently did not build an adequate footing for it. It is sagging towards the end that is at the edge of the house, and is also sagging even more towards the middle. There is also some additional settling apparent in the floor of the upstairs bedroom that is partially over the porch, even more than what had been there all along. At this point we are looking to at least shore up the porch so that it doesn't sag any further, and would ideally like to reverse some of the sagging and settling that has occured over the past several years. We realize that we probably can't do much about the long-term settling. If your company might do any of the work described above, please get in touch with us, and we can make arrangements for you to look at the house.
