Over the years, as the snow melted in the spring and during heavy rains, water would find its way in through wall cracks and floor cracks.
There are many products on the market that claim to keep water out, be they paints or fillers, but none of them work for long, if at all. Here, a crack has been filled but water is still making its way through.
Now that the LawnScape outlet is installed and the concrete is dry, our project is complete.
PowerBraces are made of galvanized steel and anchored to the joists and footer of the basement, ensuring full protection. They can be adjusted over time, hopefully straightening the wall.
If there is mold in your basement , it is likely that there is moisture in the air. A dehumidifier and waterproofing system will keep out the unwanted water/moisture to make sure the home is safe and the mold can't spread.
Once WaterGuard is installed, it's barely noticeable, but makes a world of a difference in terms of keeping the space dry.
Water stains on the walls and the beginning stages of fiberglass insulation falling both point to water issues that are ramping up.
Part of the wall had an inch and a half of inward deflection. This is a major point of entry for water intrusion.
