Structural & Foundation Repair in Grand Island
Some signs of foundation failure are obvious, such as foundation cracks, but there are other symptoms that you might not realize are caused by foundation problems. If you notice any of these symptoms in your home, it’s best to have your foundation inspected by a Grand Island foundation repair professional as soon as possible.

- Bowing Walls - Concrete wall leaning in at the top.
- Shearing Walls - Inward movement of the bottom of the block wall.
- Ceiling Gaps - Space between the ceiling and the interior wall.
- Sagging Floors - Sloping floors or gap between the floor and the interior wall.
- Chimney Separation - Chimney separating from the house.
What Causes Foundation Problems in Grand Island?
Foundation settlement occurs when your home’s foundation shifts and sinks, or settles, into the ground. A weak and failing foundation can also be caused by soil changes over time and initial construction issues. The best foundation repair solution is one that has been customized for the conditions and history of your home.
The Impact of Soils
The soils your Grand Island home is built on include expansive soils common in the region. These soils shrink and expand as they absorb rainfall and snow melt, as well as with changing temperature. The result is uneven settlement. Loosely compacted “fill soil” (the soil added back after your home’s foundation was built) also contributes to foundation problems. Leaks, groundwater levels, drainage and the angle of the foundation to your yard also affect the stability of your foundation. Foundation Supportworks offers effective proven, long-lasting techniques to stabilize foundations and keep problems from getting worse.
The Solution
Your Grand Island foundation repair contractor in the Foundation Supportworks network can design a solution that prevents further movement, cracking, or bowing, and permanently strengthens and stabilizes your foundation.

Project Location: Grand Island, NE 68801
Comment: 60 feet of sidewalk that is 4" thick and 30" wide needs lifted 2" to 3" on the east side so the pads tilt slightly west allowing dirt to fill in between sidewalk and house (approx. 19") and splash the dirt line off the roof to the west. Each fracture line will be cut before you begin if required. When you complete a drain tile will be placed to the downslope part of the pads and fill dirt brought in to lever the area between the lifted edge and house. This will resolve water in the basement and pool of water forming during rain. I can send pictures upon request.
