This home is located in an area prone to sewer backup, so these homeowners proactively installed a backwater check valve. These devices are designed to allow water to flow in only one direction: away from the home and significantly decreases the risk of sewage backup when installed and maintained properly.
Specifically designed for humid spaces drains directly into the sump pump.
In this photo you can see some of the rigid foam insulation was failing.

Our SmartJack® Crawl Space Support System are adjustable metal beams. To install a crawl space jack, we create a hole and establish a solid base of engineered fill under the location of the jack. In the unfinished area of the basement, we created an in-floor drain which effectively moves any and all leaking water into their new heavy-duty sump pump system. We then finished the floor with fresh concrete. This area is now a clean and dry space for storage - just what the homeowners wanted!
