The Piers have been put in place to achieve lift on the sinking foundation.

There are many ways to identify serious damage to a foundation wall, but stair step cracks are among the most common.
The ground water fills the trench even after there is relief.
The line is buried at a slope and away from the homes foundation to prevent water from leaking back into the basement.
