My journey began over two decades ago when I met my wife, and together, we welcomed our daughter, who is now 22. At the time, I was navigating life in the Marine Corps, a decision I made to break free from a challenging situation after losing my father at 19. As a child, my dad took me to see Rambo, and to this day, Sylvester Stallone is my inspiration. Joining the military wasn't about mimicking Rambo; it was my quest for change, an experience that profoundly shaped who I am today. My wife, a guiding force, taught me the profound truth that what you put out in the world eventually comes back to you. Throughout my military career, lacking a single mentor, I observed, learned, and decided the kind of person I wanted to become: one who treats others with respect and kindness. Building relationships, demonstrating care, and becoming a role model for my kids drive me. Prior work experiences elsewhere highlighted a lack of concern for employees, compelling me to seek a workplace aligned with my values. Now, at Ogburn Construction, surrounded by like-minded individuals with solid core values, I find fulfillment in caring for my family—my ultimate why—while positively impacting those around me.
