Amanda, our Customer Care Representative, recently received a call from a homeowner in Tucson who was concerned about unsightly and potentially damaging cracks in their concrete driveway. During the call, Amanda gathered preliminary details and scheduled an on-site inspection with our Design Specialist, TJ, to assess the extent of the damage.

Upon inspection, TJ noted several cracks in the concrete slabs. These cracks had formed due to the natural sinking and compression of the underlying soil, which had allowed moisture to seep in, gradually causing further damage. Not only did this affect the driveway’s appearance, but it also posed a risk of future deterioration as the soil beneath continued to wash away or soften.

TJ explained to the homeowner that while DIY options like urethane caulk could offer a temporary fix, these solutions often dry out, crack, and bubble under Tucson's extreme weather conditions. Instead, he recommended NexusPro, a durable silicone-based sealant specifically designed to withstand UV rays, resist drying, and remain flexible for years.

With the homeowner’s approval, our project foreman, Eddie, led a team in applying the NexusPro Crack Repair Solution to the concrete driveway. Our team began by preparing each crack, smoothing it out and filling it with a backer rod to ensure optimal adhesion. Once prepared, the NexusPro sealant was applied along the cracked areas, followed by a light layer of native sand to seamlessly blend with the surrounding concrete.

Thanks to the NexusPro sealant's quick curing time, the driveway was ready for normal use in just 60 minutes. Process:

Inspection: TJ will conduct an on-site evaluation to assess the extent of the damage on the front porch and determine the best repair approach.

Preparation: The crew, led by Eduardo, will drill and smooth the cracks, inserting a non-absorbent backer rod filler.

Application: NexusPro will be applied to seal the joints and cracks, providing a strong barrier against moisture and weather damage.

Finishing: A thin layer of native sand will be applied for a uniform and finished appearance.
