Insulation is Bad
Humidity causes insulation to become saturated with water, sag, grow mold, and fall to the ground. Its better to have a vapor barrier with insulation than to have insulation. However if you prefer to have insulation you could get SilverGlo, a water proof foam panel with graphite particles to reflect heat into the crawlspace more.
Turtl
If you have a leaky entryway to your crawlspace it can cause major problems. It can warp the entryway or door, rust your door, and of course it lets water and humid air into your crawlspace. A great solution to this is to get the water and air tight sealed Turtl. Also if you put one in and have it so the lid is at ground level, it's extremely durable so if someone was to walk on it or fall on top they aren't going to fall into a hole like most entry ways. The Turtl box can also lock, which is great if you decided to use your new CleanSpace crawlspace as storage!
Ew, is that mold?
This moldy damp crawlspace was in dire need of a vapor barrier system and insulation that won't grow mold. We installed CleanSpace as the vapor barrier system, and SliverGlo for insulation. CleanSpace keeps moisture and humid air out of the crawlspace. SilverGlo adds that extra step to completely controlling the air in your crawlspace. It has graphite particles in it to better reflect heat. Also it is made of inorganic materials that won't grow mold.
What's Growing in Your Crawlspace?
This homeowners crawlspace was the perfect environment for these mushrooms and mold to be growing in, damp and humid. To keep the space under their house safe and free of dangerous things growing the homeowners decided to get our CleanSpace, with SmartPump, and a SaniDry dehumidifier. No more mysterious things growing under their house!
SilverGlo Wall Insulation
SilverGlo wall panels is an alternative to insulating floor joists. They are fastned to the wall three inches down from the sil-plate. SilverGlow wall panels have a radiant barrier, which reflects heat back into your crawl space for ultimate energy savings.
