External pressure from unstable soil conditions can damage foundation walls, causing tilting, bowing and cracking. Steve and Diana V. of Stewardson, IL noticed their foundation walls were tilting, cracking and causing damage to the finished walls above them so they called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended installing Geo-Lock Wall Anchors.

Woods installed the Geo-Lock Wall Anchors along the cracked walls to counteract the external soil pressure. Then connected walls plates in the interior of the walls to earth anchors embedded in stable soil conditions in the yard with anchor rods. The walls are permanently stabilized and can even be straightened over time by tightening the anchors during dry periods.

Crawlspace support blocks were failing in Shumway, IL, as they were crumbling and causing the floors above to sag. To solve these issues, the SmartJack System was installed. This will stabilize the beams and floor joists in the crawlspace and lift the floor above it back toward its original elevation. Floor bounce caused by weakened joists or excessive spans will also be reduced. This crawlspace will now remain stable and restore peace of mind for years to come!

Kelly H was concerned when she noticed that her basement walls were beginning to bow. So, she decided to call Woods Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Brandon B was able to come up with a solution to the problem.

Foreman Jose L installed a Geo-Lock Wall Anchor, shown above, in Kelly’s basement. The Wall Anchor has two ends, one will attach to the basement walls. The device can be tightened and overtime will be able to straighten the walls.

The steel wall anchors, pictured above, extend from the inside walls of the home to the hard packed soil outside. These anchors help prevent further movement and stabilize the walls.
