In the photo you can see a shadow at the top of the wood studs on the foundation wall: this is how far in the finished drywall needed to be because of the bowing in effect.  The reason we were called out to this Decatur, Illinois home was to stop the wall from moving in any further.  The wall continued to push in damaging the finished drywall and the homeowner wanted to fix the problem once and for all.  Otherwise, just resetting the finished wall in a couple of inches only would buy time until the force of the inward movement would damage the drywall a second time.  We installed our Geo-Lock® wall anchoring system to permanently solve the problem.

Daniel B was concerned when he noticed that the foundation of his home was starting to bow. So, he decided to call Woods Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Kevin E was able to come up with a solution to the problem.

Foreman Jose L installed a Geo-Lock Wall Anchor, shown above, in Daniel's home. The Wall Anchor has two ends, one attaches to a stable level of soil away from the house, the other attaches to the house walls, the device can be tightened and over time will straighten the walls.

This homeowner first tried to fix her crawl space's stability by using bricks to support the ceiling. Team Woods installed SmartJacks into the crawl space to regain balance in the home's foundation. 

This Decatur, Illinois homeowner's basement walls were full of large cracks and were slightly bowing inward. The owner was very concerned that these cracks might eventually cause a wall collapse, and he was eager to take care of the issue. A Woods Basement Systems team supported the walls by installing several PowerBrace I-beams. These galvanized steel supports are incredibly strong, totally preventing further cracking and bowing. These walls are now secured for the life of the structure.

A foundation was settling in Decatur, IL, causing the bricks on the outside of the house to crack and shift. To solve this issue, Push Piers were installed. These will permanently stabilize the foundation and raise it back up to its original position. They will also close the cracks and improve the function of windows and doors. This foundation will remain stable for years to come!
