Bowing concrete-block basement walls present quite a problem. Although bowing is bad for any walls, concrete-block walls are particularly dangerous because individual blocks can fail and allow dirt and moisture to freely pour into the space. With these concerns in mind, this Dix, Illinois homeowner called Woods Basement Systems to address his bowing walls. A Woods team installed several GeoLock anchors in the firm soil 10 feet away from the home to pull the walls outward over time by connecting them with steel plates on the interior surface of the walls.

This homeowner's basement was showing signs of settling, cracking, and leaking. To fix this, GeoLock wall anchors were installed. These are secured in the soil surrounding the basement, keeping the walls upright and sealing cracks over time. This will prevent more leakage or wall failure in the future.
