Wet Crawl Space in Owensville, IN

When moisture leaks into a crawl space, it can create a humid environment and it will cling to any organic materials, making them soft. This scenario is exactly what happened to a crawl space in Owensville, IN. A homeowner had creaking floors, that were caused by water vapor. Damp wood rots, which enables mold to grow on it. The homeowner wanted to waterproof his crawl space before the problem worsened anymore.

A drainage matting was laid throughout the space for the CleanSpace to lay on top of. A drainage mat is helpful for water that comes in through the dirt ground to be carried to the sump pump. The CleanSPace is then laid on top of the drainage matting, sealing the floor and walls away from the outdoor air. To pump water out of the crawl space, that does not enter into the spaces in front of the ground, the SmartSump pump takes care of the problem! To create a constant airflow to prevent humidity, the SaniDry Sedona is hooked up. This dehumidifier disposes of water automatically by carrying any water vapor to the SmartSump. The homeowner was pleased to know that their home and health are protected.

Vapor Barrier in Evansville, IN

A homeowner in Evansville, IN needed his crawl space's vapor barrier protected, and knew that that was a job for Healthy Spaces. Upon inspection, the crawl space was humid and the dirt floors were damp underneath the black, 6 mil liner.  Fortunately, the humid climate was caught early, leaving the surfaces of the wooden beams mold-free. The homeowner needed the best possible solution set in place to prevent humidity, water, and mold in the crawl space.

The crawl space was protected against a vapor barrier using CleanSpace to seal the floor and walls. Any water that comes through the ground will not affect the environment, but will instead be directed to the SmartSump that was installed. The crawl space was humid and needed to be controlled by using the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. Once a reliable system was established, the homeowner will have peace.

New Crawl Space Access Well in Evansville, IN

In Evansville, IN, the home was for sale, but when the inspection report was completed, it was reported that water was finding its way inside the crawl space through the entry door located outside. The panel was not secured in a way, resulting in water being able to seep through the sides. For the home to complete the inspection test, this would need to be taken care of. The realtor reached out to Healthy Spaces to handle the issue!

The old plywood panel that was used needed to be discarded and replaced with the EverLast Panel. The EverLast Panel is all plastic, so it will not rot, warp, or need paint. Knobs screw into the anchors in the wall and draw the door tight against weather stripping to seal off outside air. Once the job was completed, the realtor was able to sell the home!

Humidity Causing Uneven Floors in New Harmony, IN

A home in New Harmony, IN, had wooden floors that were starting to become uneven. The homeowner reached out to us, in hopes that we would have the best solution for her home. The flooring was uneven due to the humidity and moisture present in the crawl space. The homeowner was interested in encapsulating her crawl space when she heard about CleanSpace.

Home encapsulation is a rewarding process to witness. A drainage matting is first laid out across the floor of the crawl space. A dimpled polyethylene membrane under the CleanSpace liner allows water to flow to a sump in a crawl space. CleanSpace is then laid on top and sealed to exclude outdoor air from disrupting the environment again. Once the project was completed, the homeowner peered inside her crawl space and was amazed by the transformation!
