Concrete Leveling and Crack Prevention in Altoona, IA

This customer recently encountered an issue with their home—an unlevel patio. Sidewalks go through constant use and can form cracks and sink when the soil beneath the cement slabs erodes. It's important to address these problems quickly because uneven sidewalk slabs are a safety risk to your family, guests, and neighbors. Midwest has the expertise to resolve these issues effectively. We used PolyLevel technology to lift, level, and stabilize their patio. To address smaller cracks, we used NexusPro solution to fill and seal cracks and control joints. This gave the patio a long-lasting and seamless finish.

Basement Water Proofing in Altoona, IA

This homeowner's main problem was preventing water from entering their basement for health and safety reasons.  To address this issue, we installed the CleanSpace wall system. Unlike paint and other wall-adhering materials, CleanSpace is mechanically attached to the basement walls using plastic drilled-in fasteners, keeping it in place. CleanSpace will never chip, peel, or flake away from the concrete. Additionally, any water seepage through the walls will be directed down into the drainage system to keep the basement dry and protected. By choosing CleanSpace, we successfully addressed the homeowner's concerns and provided them with an effective solution.

Water Problem Fixed in Maxwell, IA

This homeowner had water getting into his basement, and every time he wanted the water to go away, he would have to pull up the flooring to dry out the water. While this problem had been occurring for years, he determined that with retirement nearing, he wanted to devote his time to home improvement projects instead of dealing with the wet basement problem. He knew that he wanted this problem fixed the right way, so when he found out about our services, he decided to give us a call.

We sent System Design Specialist James Denning to inspect the homeowner's basement water problem and determine what was causing it and to suggest solutions that would fix the problem. James found that water was coming in on one side of the house because that side of the house was sitting lower than the rest of the foundation, so water was running downhill to this portion of the house. James suggested that fixing this problem would involve a full perimeter waterproofing solution complete with a TripleSafe Sump Pump in order to get water out of the home, and the homeowner thought this idea would help tremendously.

One of our installation teams came to the home and installed a full perimeter WaterGuard Interior Drainage System with a partial height CleanSpace Vapor Barrier in order to drain water along the wall source. Then, they installed a lateral line to keep the center of the basement free of water, and all of this lead to a TripleSafe Sump Pump System, which pumps water up and away from the basement. On the exterior or the home, our installation team buried 4 downspouts in the yard, and they installed 2 poly wells to help keep water from flowing towards the lower sitting foundation wall. The homeowner was very happy with the results and he looks forward to using his basement space now. Check out the before and after!

Driveway Leveling and Repair in Maxwell, IA

This homeowner wanted to maintain his driveway and extend the concrete's life to prevent having to replace it down the road. The area where the driveway meets the garage door was noticeably settling a few inches, which created a little speed bump. When we inspected the concrete, we realized there were voids underneath the slab into which the concrete was sinking. The best way to fix this was to use our PolyLevel foam. PolyLevel is an expansive foam that we inject beneath the slab. Once injected, it expands and then hardens to fill all voids. Once it hardens, it's able to lift the slab back to its original position. We also did a little crack repair with our NexusPro crack sealant.
