Achieving a Brighter, Healthier Basement
Water had not been shy about leaking into this Chelsea, ME, basement, and after years of using pallets to protect their appliances and belongings, the homeowner decided enough was enough. It was time to call TC Hafford Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Alan Noyes met with the homeowner and put together a plan to give them peace of mind while they travel. The system started with a WaterGuard Perimeter drain connected to a TripleSafe Sump Pump. TrenchDrain was incorporated where necessary, and BrightWall was attached to the walls, not only to brighten the basement but also to add another layer of waterproofing. Finally, a SaniDry Sedona was installed to keep the basement’s humidity at a safe level. The SaniDry Sedona connects to the TripleSafe, meaning the homeowner never has to empty a bucket again. All water is pushed out of the home through a buried discharge line, away from the foundation. Now, the homeowner no longer needs to worry about their basement and can spend their time relaxing on vacation.
New Homeowners Faced with Water in Their Basement
Shortly after moving into their dream home, this Augusta, ME, homeowner was faced with a problem: their basement would get wet when it rained. Wanting to use their basement for storage without the risk of having their belongings damaged, the homeowner reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate to waterproof their basement. System Design Specialist Ken Castillo met with the homeowner, and together they worked on designing a system that would keep their basement dry and their home healthy.
WaterGuard Perimeter drain was installed along the basement walls where necessary to capture groundwater. WaterGuard then channels the water to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump. In high-traffic areas, TrenchDrain was installed to capture the most amount of water possible. TrenchDrain features a grated cover that can be removed to clear the system and still capture surface water in front of stairs, doorways, and more. The TripleSafe Sump Pump has the power to pump 2,220 gallons of water an hour out of the main pump alone. Water is pumped out through a Buried Discharge Line that takes the water away from the home, where it can’t cause any more issues. IceGuard was installed at the base of the discharge line to prevent ice buildup, keeping the system running at 100% all year round. Now the home is safe from water, and the basement can be used for storage without worry.
Wet Belgrade, ME Basement Kept Water-Free with WaterGuard Installation
Without any water protection in place, this homeowner living in Belgrade, ME would regularly experience water gathering in pools on their basement floor. This rendered their basement useless for storage. To protect their basement from water, they called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems and our crew was able to provide a solution for this leaking foundation. When our crew arrived, they were able to install WaterGuard piping within the perimeter of the concrete floor, buried just beneath the surface. A TripleSafe sump pump was installed in the floor as well with IceGuard & LawnScape pipe segments attached to the discharge line leaving the home. Now when moisture tries to enter the space below this home, the water will be trapped by the WaterGuard. Once inside, the water will travel through the buried pipes to the TripleSafe where it will be removed from the home without having reached the surface of the basement floor.
Now that this homeowner has a properly waterproofed basement, they can make use of the space without pooling water destroying their property.
Bristol, ME Basement Receives Much Needed WaterGuard Protection
Damp Windsor, ME Basement Receives Much-Needed Sump Installation
Having to contend with moisture accumulating in their basement using nothing but fans, this homeowner living in Windsor, ME needed a better way to keep the water at bay. After talking with our staff at TC Hafford Basement Systems and receiving their free estimate, this homeowner was ready to have us solve their wet basement problem with a new sump. Shortly after clearing a space and excavating a fresh sump, a SuperSump pump was installed in the floor of the basement. The SuperSump device is capable of removing water from the home at a rate of over 2,600 gallons of water per hour. This water flows out of the home through a PVC discharge line. On the exterior of the home, an IceGuard pipe segment as well as a LawnScape discharge port were attached to the discharge line. The IceGuard will protect against ice forming in the line while the LawnScape port provides a grate over the end of the line to keep debris from entering and causing blockages.
With a proper sump pump now installed in their basement floor, this homeowner can spend less time trying to keep their floor dry and more time relaxing. The SuperSump pump will keep this basement water-free for years to come!
