System Design Specialist Michael Penna met with the homeowner and worked with them to design an encapsulation system that would keep moisture out of the crawl space.

The area was prepped for encapsulation by regrading the area and laying down Drainage Matting. Drainage Matting features large dimples that channel water to the sump and create a barrier to protect CleanSpace once it is installed. CleanSpace is a durable, inorganic vapor barrier that is laid on the floor and attached to the walls to seal the crawl space and keep moisture and critters out. A SmartSump was installed to capture groundwater and pump it out of the crawl space through the new Exterior Buried Discharge line. The Discharge line takes the water far from the home and protects the system against ice buildup with the installation of IceGuard. SprayFoam was installed along the rim joists, and the system was finished after a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was installed. The SaniDry Sedona keeps the humidity in the crawl space at a safe level and drains directly to the SmartSump, so the homeowner never has to worry about emptying a bucket of water to keep it running. Now the homeowner is able to use their crawl space for storage, and they no longer have to worry about mold in their crawl space causing issues in there home.

Drainage Matting is constructed with a dimpled design that channels water to the TripleCrawl and elevates the CleanSpace to keep it clean and protect it. CleanSpace is a durable, inorganic vapor barrier that was attached to the walls, sealing the area and brightening the space, making it perfect for storage. SmartDrain and Perforated Pipe were installed to channel water to the TripleCrawl Sump Pump. To finish encapsulating the crawl space and protect the home, SprayFoam was installed to insulate the area, and a SaniDry Sedona was installed to keep the humidity at a safe level. The SaniDry Sedona is connected to a Condensate Pump and drains to the TripleCrawl so the homeowner never has to be worried about emptying a bucket of water, and the system will continue to run without needing to be supervised or checked up on.

The homeowner is now able to regain control over their home and can live in the space without the concern of the mold or moisture effecting the health of their family.

CleanSpace with Drainage Matting was laid down and attached to the walls with SprayFoam to ensure a tight seal. Drainage Matting is a durable matting with large dimples to create a channel for water to be directed to the low spot and helps to keep the CleanSpace elevated and clean. CleanSpace is a durable inorganic vapor barrier that protects crawl spaces from moisture and prevents critters from making their way into the area and causing damage. To help capture and channel water, Perforated Pipe was installed and connected to a TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe is capable of handling the water during heavy rains that would otherwise cause issues and pumps it out of the home through a Buried Discharge Line. The Discharge line takes the water far from the home, and with IceGuard installed, the system is protected from ice buildup during the cold winter months. Now that the home is protected from the outside elements, fully encapsulated, and the floor is stabilized, the homeowner can live in their home, knowing that their family will be safe and healthier.
