In Providence, RI - this partially finished concrete foundation basement was taking on water. The homeowners have a sump pump installed, but it never seemed to run and the liner was always dry - meaning none of the water seeping in through the foundation was even making it to the pump so that it could run. As waterproofing professionals, we see this more often than you may think, where homeowners install a sump pump system to help with the water and maybe it works the first time or first couple times, but when it's not situated in the most effective spot in the basement, it becomes useless in the long run.

When our inspector, Trevor, assessed the basement to determine the source of the issues and how to best approach rectifying them - he was careful to make sure that this solution would hold up over time, should the homeowners decide to refinish the basement again. With our WaterGuard drainage system installed, this would capture the water seeping in from the edges of the foundation; our CleanSpace Wall system would capture any moisture or water seeping through the porous concrete foundation walls and channel them down into the WaterGuard system. For this job, one of our service technicians did a FlexiSpan wall crack repair procedure on this wall crack to permanently solve the issue. In this procedure, the wall crack is filled with a flexible sealant and covered an impermeable membrane for extra protection. Now, water will not be able to seep through this intrusion point anymore! 

DryZone installed SilverGlo insulation in this customer's Cumberland, RI home. SilverGlo is a 2" foam insulation board that is infused with graphite to reflect heat and lower conductivity. It is also a radiant barrier so it will reflect heat back into the basement, saving on energy costs!

Some areas are more tricky to waterproof than others but we just have to get creative! We did just that in this Cumberland, RI basement.
