PowerBraces to the Rescue in Battle Creek, MI Basement

This home had very severe bowing walls that needed to get taken care of immediately. A weak foundation is not something to wait around and fix when you have time. The foundation literally holds up your entire home and everything in it. This basement here in Battle Creek had stair step cracks which is one of the first signs that your foundation has outside forces pushing on it. After discussing the options with the homeowner we all decided the best option for this home would be our PowerBrace System.

PowerBraces are designed to permanently stabilize your homes foundation. It fixes the issue once and for all and gives you peace of mind. It doesn't straighten the wall all at once, but works over time as the braces can be tightened up as the wall moves back its original position. No heavy equipment is needed for install, the braces are zinc coated so they won't rust and most times take less than a day to install.

PowerBraces Make Battle Creek, MI Home Stable and Safe

This 1940's home had some serious bowing walls. There were cracks not only on the inside of the walls but the outside as well. The customer bought the home on land contract and couldn't even move in until the home was considered stable and safe. They called the right people, because here at Ayers we have multiple solutions that can fix bowing walls. We did a thorough inspection of the inside and outside of the home and came up with the best solution that would fix the problem once and for all.

The answer was to install our PowerBrace System. PowerBraces are designed to fix the problem permanently so there is not worrying about having to have something else done in the future. PowerBraces can actually straighten the wall over time back to its original position. There is also no heavy equipment needed so there won't be any disturbance to the lawn/landscaping.

The PowerBrace Proves its Strength Against a Bowing Wall in Battle Creek, MI

Our friends Ron & Sue from Battle Creek, MI were having issues with one of the walls in their basement bowing outward. With continuing observation, the couple could tell the walls condition was progressively getting worse. The crack in this wall grew to nearly half the horizontal distance of the entire wall. Ron & Sue became observably frightened about their walls future and called us in search of professional advice. To help this couple start the New Year out right we went to their home and devised a complete solution consisting of three PowerBraces. The PowerBrace system encompasses adjustable steel I-beams that secure to the joists above the foundation wall, offering revolutionary support. The PowerBrace improves the condition of bowing and cracked walls by reversing the forces of nature and allowing them to move back to their original position. With this sound solution in place, 2019 means no more foundation worries for Ron & Sue.

Geo-Lock Anchors Stabilize a Battle Creek, MI Bowing Wall

When these past customers of ours noticed the large horizontal crack in the before photo, they knew something was wrong with their home’s foundation. Cracks like these normally appear when soil puts extra pressure on walls and forces them to bend inwards. The inward bending or bowing of walls can lead to a lot of foundation problems, including structural failure. To keep that from happening to this Battle Creek home, our crew installed the Geo-Lock Wall Anchor system. Aptly named, the system anchors walls against any future movements to hold the foundation in place. The Geo-Anchors are placed in strong, dependable soil about 15 or 20 feet from the walls. They are then attached to the walls using the wall plates and steel rods that run through the middle of the plates in the after photo. Even as soils continue to expand, the anchors will keep the wall steady.

Upgrading to the SmartJack Support System in Battle Creek, MI

When this crawl space first began to sag, the owners had tried to stop their floors from sloping using the stacked cinder blocks in the before picture. Originally, the makeshift support had worked. The floor joists were stable and the owners didn’t have anything to worry about. But after discovering moisture issues in the crawl space, the owners decided to have a full encapsulation done and figured it was as good a time as any for foundation repairs, as well. The new support system in the after photo is the SmartJack Crawl Space Stabilizer.  Unlike the cinder block solution that was in the crawl space, the SmartJacks are adjustable and can be raised to whatever height will lift the floor back to its original position. Even if this crawl space runs into more trouble, the stability of the floor above will remain intact.
