Ken S. called because his crawl space was consistently damp due to his home being near a lake. The exposed earth in his dirt crawl space was letting a continuous stream of water vapor into the space, which increases the moisture level and the likelihood that mold and rot will form. This high amount of moisture will move upward into other areas of his home due to the “Stack Effect” bringing the damp air and mold spores with it. The porous cement block walls in his crawl space also serve as a source for water vapor to easily enter the space and increase the relative humidity.

To combat this problem we installed CleanSpace, which is a durable, waterproof and vapor proof liner that prevents any outside air or moisture from getting in. The white color will brighten the space and it is securely fastened to your walls so it will stay in place. We also installed the FrothPak insulation to seal and insulate the crawl space walls. This is perfect for a crawl space because it doesn’t absorb ambient moisture and is made from inorganic material so you will never have to worry about mold growth.

This customer contacted us because the rooms above his crawl space were cold and so he wanted to insulate the crawl space to help this problem. By insulating the crawl space it will also help to reduce energy costs in the future. With the SilverGlo insulation, we also installed our CleanSpace system to encapsulate the crawl space so no water or other outside elements can get in. 

The homeowner wanted their crawl space to be sealed off and waterproofed. With heacy rain, they got water in their crawl space and didn't want that to happen again.We installed drainage matting to allow the movement and drainage of water uner the CleanSpace liner. We also installed the CleanSpace Liner which is a thick durable liner that looks like a pool liner. This liner keeps water out of the crawl space as well as mold and odors.

Moisture and humidity were both regular visitors to this Mason, MI crawl space. Not only was the moist, humid air threatening the foundation with mold growth, the air that enters into the crawl space was also traveling throughout the home. By adding insulation and an encapsulation, the crew was able to plug up the air leaks and simultaneously improve the quality of the air inside of the home. The plastic liner used for the encapsulation in the after photo is the CleanSpace vapor barrier.   While CleanSpace protects the crawl space from any moisture that may try to rise from the crawl space floor, the SilverGlo Wall panels are the last line of defense against air flowing between cracks in the brick walls. The bright silver material reflects heat back to the source, improving the energy efficiency of the home, as well. Lastly, the crew filled in the last remaining gaps that weren’t covered by either the SilveGlo insulation or CleanSpace encapsulation. The foundation had begun to settle and cause a shift between the crawl space rim and the floor joists above. Using Froth Pack (the white spray in the after photo), the crew gave the last of the leaks a waterproof foam seal. With a full crawl space system working together, moist air won't be a problem in this crawl space again.

Greg called us because he wanted his dirt floor crawl space cleaned up and insulated before winter. This crawl space is very small but our team can get in most tiny places with no problem.
