Crawl Space Jacks and Encapsulation in Battle Creek, MI

One morning our call center received a call from Pamela, a local homeowner in Battle Creek, MI. She told us that she had a feeling the cold moist air in her crawlspace might be affecting the temperature throughout her home. Pamela also admitted that she was worried about the sagging support beam below her home. She had seen multiple Ayers Basement Systems commercials on TV and knew as the local experts we could likely provide her with effective solutions.

After assessing Pamela’s crawlspace needs, we prescribed our patented CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system to address the current moisture issues being faced below her home. The CleanSpace encapsulation product is a 20mm thick plastic lining that completely seals off the crawl space from the grim elements it faces below. We determined the cement block supports under Pamela’s home were no longer stabilizing her home. To supplement the CleanSpace and support her home we installed two Smart Jacks. The Smart Jack is a supplemental support system for crawl space applications. The Smart Jack effectively supports sagging beams and floor joists caused by, a length of span greater than spanning capability, floor load increased after construction, exceeding design values, and weakening over time due to high moisture and rot. With this dynamic system in place, it became evident that Pamela’s cranky crawlspace was no match for our level of expertise.

Insulating and Encapsulating a Battle Creek, MI Crawl Space

Jerry was having some issues with moisture in his crawl space and wanted it closed off.  We first laid down drainage matting which has dimples to direct the flow of water to the sump pump. Next, we installed the CleanSpace liner which is a thick durable liner similar to a pool liner. The CleanSpace Vapor Barrier prevents water vapor and humidity from passing through. It keeps your crawl space dry which protects your structure and insulation from mold and rot. We then insulated the crawl space with SilverGlo which contains graphite particles to increase insulating properties and make sure his house stayed warm in the cooler months.

This Battle Creek homeowner had some moisture issues in their crawlspace. When it was windy, there was a draft in the basement that the owner wanted looked at too. We inspected the home and had just the solution for the issues the homeowner was facing. First we laid down Drainage Matting in the crawl space which is a mat with dimples to allow the flow of water to the sump pump. Then we laid down CleanSpace which is a very thick liner that is installed to keep moisture, water, and pests out of the area. Now the homeowner has a clean, dry crawl space with no cold drafts coming into the basement!

Resolving Water Leaks in Battle Creek, MI

After purchasing a home, Mario noticed the water was seeping into his crawl space. He contacted us at Ayers Basement Systems, and after an inspection, the team determined water was seeping through the areas in the foundation. After talking with the team, Mario opted to install the CleanSpace system. CleanSpace utilizes a heavy-duty plastic liner that creates a vapor barrier preventing moisture from seeping into the space. Mario was thrilled with the job; his crawl space looked great, and water was no longer an issue!

Bill wanted to get his crawl space encapsulated but was not sure what to expect. He called us to get an estimate and liked what we had to say. We installed Drainage Matting, CleanSpace Crawl Space Vapor Barrier, the TripleSafe sump pump and the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. The matting had raised dimples in it so that if water did get in, there would be channels for it to flow through and could be directed to the sump pump. The vapor barrier  is just want it sounds like, it keeps pests, humidity, and water vapor out of the crawl space to keep it dry. The liner also has an additive that prevents mold growth so the home and structure is protected. The TripleSafe has three layers of protection (2 pumps and a back up battery) to keep the area dry even in cases of a pump failure or a power outage. Lastly as an added protection we  installed the SaniDry Sedona. This dehumidifier blows dry air throughout the space to make sure it remains dry (the collected water is sent to the sump pump to be expelled out of the home) and it filters the air so you can breathe easy!
