We received an important call from a customer in Traverse City that needed help insulating his home from the outside environment in Northern Michigan. We took a look and found the issue in the crawlspace. A crawlspace that is not insulated from the outside environment leads to unsafe air in the home as well as a higher energy bill. So, we solved the issue with our CleanSpace technology. CleanSpace is a 20 mil thick plastic liner that fits to the crawl space to completely seal the home from the earth. Polyester cord reinforcement allows for a lot of durability, to make it last longer than the home will. This liner also contains an antimicrobial additive to prevent mold. Now, this home is much safer and efficient!

As Michigan winters continue on with freezing temperatures, energy costs continue to rise as well.  Poor insulation in crawlspaces can let cold temperatures enter the home.  Alongside higher energy costs, poor crawlspace protection can have issues like high relative humidity, and animals living inside.  At Ayers Basement Systems, we recommend upgrading existing crawlspaces with two products: CleanSpace and SilverGlo.  CleanSpace is a white vapor barrier that protects the house from invasive humidity and temperatures from the ground.  SilverGlo (not pictured) goes on the wall to further insulate the crawlspace.  With the addition of a sump pump, these upgrades will help to save money, reduce cold temperatures, and eliminate any organisms growing under our houses such as mold or dust mites.

Although he wasn’t experiencing any moisture issues, he knew how much money he could save on his heating and cooling bills with a sealed off crawl space. So we installed CleanSpace, a plastic sheet material used as a vapor barrier to restrict all moisture, outside air, and pests from entering your crawl space. Not only does this system create an energy-efficient crawl space, but it also gives your crawl space a clean finish. This material will be applied to your floors and walls to create a sleek look and an uninterrupted barrier.

Water was standing in Barb’s crawl space so she called our team. We installed CleanSpace in order to encapsulate her crawl space. CleanSpace is used as a vapor barrier to restrict all moisture, outside air, and pests from entering your crawl space. This system creates an energy-efficient crawl space, and it also gives your crawl space a clean finish. This material will be applied to your floors and walls to create a sleek look and an uninterrupted barrier.

Jeff and Pam wanted to get their crawl space fixed up and protected from unwanted water, mold, or other nuisances. The couple went ahead and called Ayers to go through possible solutions. We sent out a crew to take a look at their crawl space and it was decided they could use our Drainage Matting, CleanSpace, and our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier.

The first product we installed was our Drainage Matting which is a raised dimpled mat that is placed directly on your crawl space floor. The benefit being it will catch any water and direct it to your sump system. Next we installed CleanSpace which is a thick, durable plastic liner with a vapor barrier that goes over the Drainage Matting and ensures protection against excess water and moisture. Therefore, it will even protect against the development of nasty mold or bacteria! Last of all we installed our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. This will eliminate damp, musty odors by filtering and drying the air in your crawl space. It also filters icky mold spores and dust mite droppings.
