Due to the ducting on the east and west walls, the crew installed C-Channel anchors. On the north and south walls, the crew put in place nine PowerBraces. The crew then moved their focus to installing the WaterGuards on the perimeter of the basement. Once the SuperSump+ was secured, the crew shifted their focus to attaching CleanSpace to the unfinished basement walls. Franklin and his crew completed the installation, so they cleaned up their materials and left the home. Next, Ian informed the homeowner that the water needed a means of escaping the space, which is where our SuperSump Plus would come into play. Next, Ian stated that he believed the crawl space to be energy inefficient, meaning that the space was making it harder to regulate the temperature in the home, as both cold and hot air were finding their way in and out of the crawl space due to tiny cracks and holes. Ian wanted to fix this problem with our Foamax Wall Panels. Foamax is a polyisocyanurate foam insulation panel with a white foil finish on the front and a foil vapor barrier on the back. The wall insulation panel offers several benefits, such as high insulation value, creating a warmer space, and brightening the basement, and can be left exposed, meaning the basement or crawl space can remain unfinished. Lastly, Ian informed the homeowner that even spaces with the most comprehensive waterproofing systems can still develop moisture and mold problems and can even feel damp. This is due to concrete walls and floors constantly absorbing moisture from the soil, releasing it into the air of the basement. Ian's final recommendation is that our AprilAire dehumidifier creates healthy air and can reduce the number of viable viruses in the air to less than 1% in two days when set to 50% relative humidity. The homeowner was thankful that Ian was forthcoming about all of the issues in the space and decided to address them all.
