ERV Installation, Gloucester, MA

A homeowner in Gloucester, Massachusetts, had questioned the air quality and humidity in their basement. They reached out to EFS for the service of their existing SaniDry Sedona. Our Service Technician Justin performed the annual service on the SaniDry but had a conversation with the homeowner revealing that they were concerned with the air quality in their home. After a conversation with the homeowner, Justin recommended an ERV system to the homeowner to improve the air quality in their basement.

Moisture and Air Quality Concerns in Basement, Gloucester, MA

A homeowner in Gloucester, Massachusetts, has lived in their home for the past 50 years and since they moved in they have had moisture in their basement. They have noticed insulation falling and moisture collecting in their basement. One of the homeowners recently had covid and has become sensitive to the quality of air. The homeowners decided to call EFS for a free inspection and our design specialist recommended installing Foamax and a SaniDry dehumidifier.

Our team installed Foamax against the wall where the moisture was collecting and then they installed a SaniDry in the basement to control the moisture in the air.

Cracks in Foundation Wall, Somersworth, NH

A homeowner in Somersworth, Massachusetts, had some cracks in their foundation that they are concerned about. One year ago the home had the main beam replaced, and since then they have seen cracks in the foundation. Our team installed PowerBraces and SmartJacks into the basement to add support to the home.

Barn Foundation Stabilization, Somersworth, NH

The owner of this old barn in Somersworth, NH knew they had to take action to save the old fieldstone foundation from crumbling, as well as repair the sagging floor joist system. Our team of specialists proposed and designed solutions for both concerns and permanently fixed the problems for the owner.

For the collapsing stone and brick foundation walls around the perimeter, our team supported them with an auxiliary, poured concrete wall system, complete with reinforced steel and rebar components. When it comes to field stone foundations, a lot of times this is the only solution that does not involve completely lifting the structure and pouring new foundation all together.

Once the old foundation walls were stabilized, our crew then replaced the failing lally column supports throughout the crawlspace area with our steel SmartJack supports. These new columns have large steel bases installed over large concrete or engineered fill footings, ensuring the weight load is properly distributed, as well as removing the chance for further settlement.

This property owner now has peace of mind knowing their old barn has a solid foundation, allowing them to preserve the structure above and keep it standing for years to come.
