This Mount Airy, NC basement was showing clear signs of foundation stress, including horizontal wall cracking, moisture intrusion, and wall movement. Over time, excess moisture and soil pressure caused the block wall to bow and deteriorate, creating an unsafe and damp environment.

Our team stepped in with a full solution to stabilize and protect the home. We installed heavy-duty steel I-beams along the affected wall to provide immediate structural support and prevent further movement. To permanently address the wall pressure, we also installed GeoLock wall anchors, which work to stabilize and gradually straighten the foundation over time.

To combat ongoing moisture issues, we completed a full basement waterproofing system, sealing the space and creating a clean, dry, and healthier environment.

We installed the GeoLock Wall Anchor System to stabilize the basement wall because it provides a reliable and long-term solution for correcting wall cracks and bowing caused by soil pressure. This system uses anchors placed in stable soil away from the foundation, connected to steel plates on the interior wall, to counteract the pressure and prevent further movement. It’s a proven method to protect the structural integrity of the basement without requiring extensive excavation or reconstruction.

Water was filling this block wall and in addition to flooding the basement put immense pressure on the foundation wall. That pressure formed cracks in the mortar and started to push the wall out. If left unchecked this could easily collapse the wall, so we installed steel beams that brace the wall moving forward.

Among other issues, this basement's wall had started to bow inward. This risk of a wall collapse lead the homeowners to search for a solution. Fortunately, there are different types of solutions for this problem, and we installed a steal beam support that stabilized the cracking wall from further dislocation.

Sagging floors had plagued this home for a while and the homeowners tried a jack system that wasn't getting the job done. We replaced the system with our SmartJacks under a steel beam support. This is a more durable and effective way to hold the floor up.
