Wet crawl space and water infiltration in Hawkesbury, ON

Problem

Mr. Boutin had a crawl space that was not insulated, where water was infiltrating through the walls and the floor. He contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Québec to have a dry crawl space and strengthen the support beams that were made of wood.

Solution

Insulate crawl space walls with our SilverGlo panels and add our CleanSpace vapor barrier to lock in moisture and provide a clear appearance.

Replace the sump pump with our SmartSump system which contains a 1/3 HP cast iron Zoeller pump.

Add our Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier to control the humidity level and filter the air.

Reinforce slowly decaying wooden support beams by adding galvanized steel SmartJack pillars.

Encapsulation of a crawl space in Coteau-Du-Lac, Qc

Here is another wet crawl space but this time it’s in Coteau-Du-Lac, Qc.

Our client was complaining about the damp area and the mold growth that was spreading into his house.

After her call and the place inspection, we recommended him to install a CleanSpace membrane to block water vapor; a TerroBlock insulation system that is specially made for crawl spaces, and finally a SmartSump pump to pump all the water out of the area and reduce the moisture in the place.

Encapsulating a crawl space in Clarenceville, Qc

We have encapsulated and waterproofed this crawl space in Clarenceville that was undergoing many problems such as heat loss and wasted energy, water infiltration, mold and more.

By installing our CleanSpace Liner to solve the problems of water vapor, our CleanSpace matting to collect water from the crawl space floor and direct it to the SmartDrain, the place is now totally sealed.

Crawl Space encapsulation in Coteau-Du-Lac, Qc.

We have encapsulated this crawl space in Coteau Du Lac and transformed it from an earthen place with moist air into a dry, clean and bright space that can be used for useful purposes.

This has added more usable space to this home and increased its value.

Now our client uses it to store his seasonal items since the air has become dry and of better quality because the CleanSpace vapor barrier membrane contains an antibacterial additive that prevents the formation and proliferation of bacteria and molds and blocks water vapor.

So the air that moves from the crawl space to the upper floors is now healthy.

Bad smells and humidity problems, in Coteau-du-Lac

Over 8 years ago, when Mr. Serge and his family moved to this house, the plan was to address the crawl space problem. For several reasons, Mr. Serge decided to postpone the work, telling himself that it was not a priority and that the problem would perhaps resolve itself.

8 years later, water infiltration was still present and a smell of humidity is now found on the floors. So it was time to fix the situation once and for all.

Our team went to do a complete appraisal of the property, lasting nearly 2 hours. It is essential for us to properly identify the needs of the situation and to address the concerns of the client. When there is water infiltration and affected air quality, it is important to resolve the situation quickly. Our specialist advised Mr. Serge on the combination of the CleanSpace product to insulate the crawl space and a very efficient dehumidifier, the SaniDry.
