Mrs. Monique B. from Gatineau called us to tell us about her problems related to mold and moisture in her crawl space. Our crew then proceeded to install a CleanSpace membrane, a SmartSump pump system, and two SmartJack support pillars. They also applied Mold-X Neutralizer to areas affected by mold. Our customer can now enjoy her basement without having to worry about water getting in!

When our specialists inspected this home in Gatineau, they found that the crawl space had high humidity levels, creating conditions conducive to condensation, unpleasant odors, mold growth, and material deterioration. Moisture rising from the ground could also affect indoor air quality throughout the house, since air from the crawl space naturally circulates upward to the upper floors. In addition, certain sections of the structure required additional support to ensure the stability of the floors. To address these issues, our team fully encapsulated the crawl space by installing a drainage matting to effectively channel water, a CleanSpace® vapor barrier to block moisture from the ground and create a clean, dry environment, and SmartJack® supports to reinforce the joists and stabilize the floors. And then we have covered the soil with a vapor barrier called CleanSpace. This membrane is a 20mil plastic coating composed of several layers of plastic with different characteristics of flexibility and strength. It also has an antibacterial additive that blocks the growth of mold and fungi on the coating.
