When we first met these clients, they had a very high level of humidity in their basement, mainly due to an open sump pump pit. An open pit with constantly running water is like a humidifier in your house! 

The homeowners would never know if and when their pump stopped working, so we installed our SuperSump system that comes with a WaterWatch Alarm. to let them know if their pump stopped working. In addition, the completely sealed system helped a lot in keeping the humidity levels lower in their basement.

Water coming from rain, storms, melting snow and pooling groundwater is a common cause of long-lasting wet basement problems.

In this job executed in Chateauguay, we have installed our Interior basement system’ the Waterguard’ that is installed just underneath the perimeter edge of the basement floor; a SuperSump pump system that is one of the most efficient pumps in the market; and finally a CleanSpace vapor barrier to prevent water vapor and humidity from passing through.

When the wall begins to tilt in the middle, but have not yet begun to slide inward at the base or tilt inward at the top, Carbon Fiber strips are the best solutions.

This was our client’s problem that lives in Morin-Heights.

When the tapes are installed, the resistance that the carbon fiber tapes exert makes it possible to prevent the wall from flexing again.

This client contacted us the first time in 2013 to request a bid to waterproof his basement which was suffering from water infiltration. Having decided that he was in no hurry to carry out the work, he dropped the project but contacted us again in 2019 to resume the project, as the problems worsened.

Our team installed a WaterGuard interior drain perimeter that intercepts water that seeps into the foundation, floor, and walls. This internal drain is connected to a sump pump system to evacuate water away from home.

Once the drain was installed around the foundation, our team covered the walls with the CleanSpace vapor barrier membrane that blocks the water vapor so that it does not wick the space. This membrane also redirects the infiltrations of water if there are some towards the drain. The vapor barrier prevents mold and bloom from appearing and proliferating.

Problem: This Morin-Heights client had an uninsulated crawl space that was wet and left an unpleasant odor through the floor of the first floor. This is why he decided to contact us to receive a free quote.

Solution: The solution chosen during this project was to install our CleanSpace system throughout the crawl space. So to start, our foreman sealed all possible air leaks in the crawl space with expandable foam. Subsequently to redirect the water to the sump pump, a drainage membrane was installed over the entire floor of the crawl space and following it we installed our CleanSpace vapor barrier membrane on top to waterproof everything. Finally, we also installed the SilverGlow, our insulation type EPS laminated with aluminum foil, to insulate this crawl space.

Since our intervention, the humidity of this crawl space has been reduced and the customer now benefits from a better insulated crawl space.
