Kathy was tired of water leaking into her basement. She contacted us at Ayers Basement System to find a permanent waterproofing solution. After conducting an inspection, the team at Ayers determined that the FlexiSpan wall system would be the best solution. FlexiSpan is a three-step process where the crack is sealed, and waterproof liners are placed, creating a waterproof barrier. After the installation, Kathy no longer had issues with water leaking into her basement!

We all know doing laundry isn’t the most enjoyable experience, but it’s probably a lot less unpleasant if you have to do it in a basement like this one. The mortar around the cinderblock walls is crumbling, letting moisture into the basement. While the owners have a sump pump, there’s no way for the water from the leaky walls to enter it; that’s where WaterGuard comes in.

Our team installed WaterGuard, a drainage system that’s laid on top of the footing around the perimeter of the basement. This piping collects water from the leaky walls and reroutes it to the sump pump, where it’s then forced out of the basement through a discharge line.

To improve the overall look of the walls, we also installed BrightWall paneling. These plastic panels fastened to the wall brighten the space, while still allowing water from the walls behind it to drain to the WaterGuard system. These panels prevent water vapor from coming through the walls and evaporating the basement, too.

WaterGuard helps eliminate the water from the leaky walls in this basement, while Brightwall paneling dramatically enhances the space. We won’t promise the homeowners that doing their laundry will be fun, but we hope it will be a lot more bearable when it’s done in this bright, dry basement.
