Six New Windows for a Three Rivers, MI Basement

As you can see in the before photo, the windows of this basement hadn’t seen a lot of use over the past few years. In total, there were 6 basement windows and they were all boarded up in a similar fashion as this one. When the homeowners called us up to repair their foundation, they figured it was also a good time to replace their old worn out windows.

The replacement windows in the after photo are what we call our egress window system. The real benefit of the system are the wells that come accompany the windows. Once placed into excavated portions of soil, the inorganic, waterproof wells will shield the newly installed windows from possible leaks and any decay caused by ground water. The owners now have windows they can see out of, and they’re even protected.

Egress Window Transforms Three Rivers, MI Basement into a Legal Living Space

Linda was looking into Ayers for an Egress Window so she could legally make her basement a living space. She gave Ayers a call and we had our customer care team set up an appointment for her.

The main advantage of Egress Windows would be that they are waterproof and provide a quick, easy escape in the case of an emergency. They are also much larger in size compared to the typical basement window. More natural light and fresh air will fill the room. This will make her basement more inviting for company and for whoever is planning on moving in down there.

Linda was thankful for her new Egress Window that transformed her basement into a regular living space!

New Sump Pump Dries Eaton Rapids Split-Level Home

You can have basement flooding even if you don't have a basement. Such was the case in this Eaton Rapids split-level house; the sump pump was running almost constantly and even then there were times it couldn't keep up.

A new M-53 Zoeller pump replaced the old hole in the ground, and everything was as good as new.

CleanSpace & SmartJack Systems Save Sinking Eaton Rapids Floors

Another day, another sinking floor from a too wet crawl space. JoAnne called us to get her crawl space dry and keep it that way, as well as to lift her sinking floors.

After the new discharge line, LawnScape outlet and IceGuard system were in place, we installed a few SmartJack crawl space stabilizers to add support to the foundation and lift the sinking floors. Then we used the CleanSpace vapor barrier system with drainage matting to protect the crawl space (and the floors above) from natural moisture in the air.

FloodRing Protects Basement in Eaton Rapds, MI

Plumbing issues are one of the more common ways that basements flood. These can be anything from leaky water heaters to burst hoses on washing machines. After noticing a lot of moisture in his basement, this homeowner decided to investigate. He found that water was flowing through the hole where a pipe for his pressurized well tank met the wall.

When there is a leak in a basement wall the water will flow down and puddle on the floor. To collect and direct this water to a safe discharge area, we install perimeter drainage systems. However, much like with water heater leaks, well tanks can create their own floods and pools. The easiest way to prevent these leaks from causing damage to your basement is with a FloodRing. FloodRings are 4-inch high PVC rings that encircle tanks and water heaters to keep water from spreading. The ring can then be connected to a perimeter drainage system and discharged outside. With these two products in place, this basement will be protected from leaks in the walls and on the ground.
