Geo-Lock Anchors Save Failing Wall in Okemos, MI
This customer called because he noticed his wall was caving inward and he was afraid it was going to collapse. His home was built with block foundation and was experiencing horizontal cracking, which is a common sign of wall failure in this type of foundation wall. In order to save the wall our crew decided that installing Geo-Lock wall anchors would be the best bet.
The Geo-Lock wall anchor system will stabilize the wall and prevent it from continuing to bow inward. Steel anchors are installed in the soil away from the home and are then connected to steel wall plates located on the foundation wall. These anchors ensure the wall is stabilized, with the capability to tighten the anchors during dry seasons to straighten the wall over time. This customer will no longer have to worry about the possibility of his wall collapsing.
SmartJacks Save Basement in Okemos, MI
SmartJacks are steel support systems used to stabilize and level the girders and floor joists. The heavy duty system has been laboratory tested to support loads of more than 60,000 pounds (that's a lot of weight). Being able to support that much weight makes SmartJacks a great option to stablize sagging floors and any walls and belongings on top of that floor.
This customer contacted us because she was having some remodeling work done and the contractor doing the work was concerned about the sagging floors and foundation because there were cracks in the ceiling and walls. She was also planning to move within the year so we were able to restore her properties value with these heavy duty SmartJacks.
Sagging Floors in Okemos, MI Home
One homeowner in Okemos, MI called us about their sagging floors. So, we drove to their property to give them a free estimate, we found the root of the problem which is the foundation of the floors in the basement. The floors needed to be reinforced so that they wouldn't sag so we installed our advanced SmartJack technology. The SmartJack is a support system used to stabilize and level the floor joists in a crawl space. This system can support up to 60,000 pounds. The SmartJack system is placed on strong concrete fillings that have replaced the soil in that small location underneath the SmartJack. Now, this homeowner won't have sagging floors ever again.
Basement in Okemos, MI In Need of Foundation Support
John and Suzanne found the foundation walls in their basement were beginning to bow in. They decided to call Ayers for a solution. A Specialist went out to inspect their home and determine a solution. The team at Ayers decided on Carbon Armor and GeoLock Wall Anchors.
Carbon Armor is carbon straps that are stronger than both steel and concrete. Once the straps are fully epoxied to the wall, it will prevent any bowing in the wall. Carbon Armor is also attached to the top of the wall with a bracket system for extra reinforcement. In addition, GeoLock Wall Anchors were installed; these wall anchors consist of a plate buried in the ground outside of the damaged wall. A steel rod is drilled through a small hole in the wall and into the anchor plate in the ground. Then, a plate is installed on the interior side of the wall and fasted to the rod to create a pulling pressure on the wall. The pulling force brings the wall back into place and stabilizes it over time.
These products will be perfect for the couple as they will no longer need to worry about bowing walls!
Okemos, MI Egress Window Installation
Melissa and Robert's Okemos, MI home has a cinderblock foundation with a finished basement. The couple were looking to invest in an egress window to make the basement safer for their new child. They immediately called Ayers Basement Systems for the job.
Egress windows from Ayers bring together safety and beauty in one. Building codes require that basement living spaces must have a large enough window to safely evacuate in case of emergency. Our windows have built-in steps and durable covers that hold up to 500 pounds. Because adding an egress window requires cutting a hole in the foundation, a window installation company is not the safest option. Ayers knows foundations and knows how to install an egress window properly.
Melissa and Robert were thrilled with the installation! They feel like their child now has the perfect space to grow, learn, and play safely.
