PowerBrace System Reinforced Bowed Wall in Zeeland, MI
This Zeeland, MI home had a cracked and bowed basement foundation wall that was in need of proper stabilization. We used the effective PowerBrace system to hold the wall in place and potentially help pull the wall back to its proper position. The strong steel I-beams were installed in the floor at the base of the wall and then attacked to the joists above the wall to hold it in place. Once we tightened the system, the wall would no longer be able to shift and bow inward any further. We also provided the homeowners with a tightening kit that is used to continue tightening the system overtime to straighten the wall over time.
Wood Columns Fail to Support Foundation in Zeeland, MI
One customer in Zeeland, MI needed help with the foundation of their sagging floors. Previously, this home was using wood columns in the crawlspace to support the floor above it. Wood columns will never do a great job at supporting the floor. They are not adjustable, they cannot support heavy loads, they are vulnerable to molding and rotting, and they do not provide a long-term solution. We knew exactly what to do to fix this foundation, we installed the SmartJack system in this crawlspace to provide this home with a long-term solution to their foundation. This steel support system is ideal for the foundation of floors above the crawlspace. SmartJack is proven to support over 60,000 pounds, so you can rely on it to support your house very well.
This is done by excavating a cube of soil where the SmartJack will be placed. Then, this hole gets filled with a strong concrete, then the base for your SmartJack is ready and will not need to depend on weak foundation soil to hold your home up. Thanks to SmartJack, this home will no longer need to worry about the foundation of their home.

PowerBrace System Stops a Bowing Wall in Holland, MI
After noticing large cracks in his basement walls, Don became concerned about his foundation and rightfully so. The stair step cracks running below the window of the before photo are one of a few key signs that a basement wall is bowing inward from pressure. This type of structural problem can mean the destruction of a home’s foundation if it isn’t properly and timely addressed. So when Don gave us a call, we rushed over to help him out.
The beams in the after photo, along with the tightening bracket used to connect them to the floor joists, make up the PowerBrace Wall Repair System. Tightening the bracket will push back on the walls and put a stop to the inward pressure. With any luck, the PowerBrace beams won’t only stop Don’s walls from bowing, they may actually push them back to their original position, as well.
