Moisture Collection in Winthrop, MN Basement

Andrew in Winthrop, MN had water leaking through his block foundation where the wall meets the floor. He had a working sump pump already in place, but without a drainage system the water had no way to reach the pump. He contacted American Waterworks to receive a FREE estimate, so we sent a Design Specialist to his home to develop a solution for Andrew. Our Specialist recommend having our WaterGuard drainage system installed and connected to the sump pump.

Andrew agreed with this solution, so our production crew started the installation by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the floor to create a trench for the WaterGuard. Then, they laid the WaterGuard drainage system and filled back the gaps with rock. They connected the drainage system into the existing sump pump and then replaced the concrete. This process only took a day to complete, and now Andrew is enjoying a dry, healthier basement.

Radon Gas Mitigation Installed in Winthrop, MN

In Winthrop, MN, a homeowner had been experiencing multiple issues with their home: an uneven porch and high radon levels. Knowing that the porch has become a trip hazard and the dangers of high radon levels, the homeowner began looking into concrete repair and radon mitigation installers in the area and found us. Happy to see that we provide services for both issues, the homeowner contacted us to schedule their FREE estimate.

In less than a week, our Design Specialist, Tony B., arrived at the home to conduct a thorough inspection. During the inspection, Tony took a close look at the layout of the home and worked closely with the homeowner on the best placement of our radon mitigation system. Tony recommended installing the fan on the exterior of the home and having it connect to the sump pump pit in the basement. This is designed this way so that the system can properly suction out the radon gas and expel it above the roofline before it can enter the home. He also noticed signs of soil washout of the back porch and recommended lifting the uneven slabs with PolyLevel and sealing the joints with NexusPro. PolyLevel is a fast-curing foam solution that is designed to lift uneven slabs without the mess of traditional methods like mudjacking. NexusPro is our UV-resistant silicone-based sealant that will provide a seamless look. Happy with the recommendations, the homeowner decided to move forward with the project.

In about a month, our Foreman, Dylon V., and his crew arrived at the home to lift the sunken slabs. Once the porch was lifted and leveled, eliminating all trip hazards, the crew applied NexusPro along the joints. Then, in a week, our Foreman, Dakota M., and his crew arrived at the home to install the radon mitigation system. Once it was installed, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.

Leaking Basement Repaired in Ulen, MN

Debra and Kathy of Ulen, MN had water leaking into their basement, making them feel nervous about the value of their home. They did some research online and came across our American Waterworks website and our basement waterproofing products. They called our office line and scheduled a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Rick Weber. Rick went to their home to inspect their problem and come up with a solution. Debra and Kathy were confident in Rick's proposal, so they moved forward with the project.

Our Foreman, Tremaine Jackson and his team began the project by breaking out the concrete perimeter of the basement floor, forming a trench. Next, our crew applied 77 feet of our CleanSpace Wall System and secured it around the wall perimeter. Our CleanSpace is a vapor barrier that prevents mold and humidity from invading the basement and acts as an extra wall protectant. Then, Tremaine and his crew installed 77 feet of our WaterGuard System into the formed trench. Our WaterGuard collects water seepage from basement walls and acts as an underground drain that leads to outside. Lastly, our team covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete.
