A homeowner in Grand Forks, ND, was investigating their basement following a heavy rainstorm. Unfortunately, the homeowner made a startling discovery, their basement was suffering significantly from water damage. The homeowners wanted to solve the issue as soon as they could, so they called the highly-rated waterproofing repair company in North Dakota, American Waterworks. Next, the homeowner called our Appointment Center and signed up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner awaited the arrival of one of our Design Specialists, Kole, to arrive. Kole introduced himself to the homeowner and began the inspection. Following the inspection, Kole told the homeowner the water was coming in from the North and West basement walls. To stop the water from sneaking in, Kole recommended waterproofing those walls. Knowing this was their best option, the homeowner agreed with Kole's recommendations. Next, the plans were approved by our office and then sent to our Foreman, Roel, and his crew. After they received the plans, Roel and his crew traveled to the home and began the project. First, the crew installed the WaterGuard along the north and west basement walls. Next, the crew tied the WaterGuard to the existing sump system. Then, the crew attached CleanSpace to the unfished section of the basement. Once the CleanSpace was installed, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was impressed with the excellent work completed by the crew. Our Foreman, Tanner, and his crew started the project by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement. Then, they installed a full perimeter of our WaterGuard drainage system, and our SuperSump Plus pump. Water now drains through the WaterGuard into the sump pump. The team also implemented our LawnScape Outlet, which is a pipe buried from the downspout that lets water outside onto the surface of the lawn while camouflaging the end of the pipe. This helps get water away from the exterior of the home. Lastly, the crew finished the project by filling the gaps with rock, replacing the concrete, and cleaning up their work area. Concerned about the severity of the leak, the homeowner immediately reached out to American Waterworks to have them conduct an inspection. Design Specialist, Dylan, completed the inspection and returned with a possible solution. Dylan recommended the WaterGuards be placed around the perimeter of the basement. The homeowners consented and the project began. To properly install the WaterGuard, the crew began by demolishing the fireplace. Then, the crew dug out and installed the WaterGuard. Following the WaterGuard installation, Foamax was installed on the basement walls. The crew completed the construction successfully. A homeowner in Pembina, ND, searched for a company to inspect their current water system. While searching through many waterproofing companies, the homeowner determined that American Waterworks was the best fit. The crew began the project by digging channels around the basement perimeter. Once the channels were dug, the crew could put the WaterGuard in place. Next, the crew tied to the homeowner's current system and a new SuperSump pump to the WaterGuard. The homeowners were pleased that their home was properly waterproofed. He needed assistance accurately diagnosing the cause of water intrusion, musty odors, and mildew in the basement and wanted a reliable waterproofing system to eliminate these problems and create lasting peace of mind. He researched and decided to call us for a FREE estimate to understand our possible solutions. Our Foreman traveled to his home to take a look around. Once he completed his walkthrough, he was ready to recommend a plan to transform the basement into a healthy, clean space.

First, the team did a half-wall demo in the northeast corner of the basement to more effectively install our WaterGuard solution. They then began breaking out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard System along the basement's North, East, and South walls where issues were present. Our WaterGuard is a patented below-floor drain that rests in a drainage bed on top of the foundation footing. It is our most commonly used drain system because of its resistance to water clogs, easy-to-access service ports, and ability to collect leaking water from basement walls. To complete the WaterGuard project, our team covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete. The crew then added CleanSpace to encapsulate the basement to prevent moisture and mold from affecting the rest of the foundation. There was also a small room under a stoop that the team fully wrapped with CleanSpace in order to protect the area best. Next, to direct water away from the home's foundation so that it would not leak back into the basement, the team added a 30-foot discharge line from the North end of the basement near the stoop, through the TripleSafe Sump Pump out into the yard. The team also implemented our LawnScape Outlet, which is a pipe buried from the downspout that lets water outside onto the surface of the lawn while camouflaging the end of the pipe. The lid comes off for easy cleaning, minimizing maintenance for your home. Furthermore, American Waterworks can help prevent wintertime freeze-up of discharge lines. We installed the patented IceGuard® system, an anti-freeze fitting that is installed outside of your home and ejects water away from the foundation if the sump pump discharge lines freeze or become clogged. Once the job was done, our customer was happy to know that his basement had been transformed, and he no longer had to worry about water intrusion!
