We sent one of our Design Specialists, Rick Weber, to evaluate the situation and propose a unique solution to fit Mark’s needs. 

Our Foreman, Jesus Covarrubias, and his production crew began the project by removing the debris from the crawl space. Then, drainage matting was placed on the dirt soil, and Terra Block insulation was place on top to create a thermal barrier. Next, the crew installed the rim joist insulation, Cleanspace vapor barrier on the floor, and Foamax wall insulation on the walls to create an airtight barrier between the soil below and the building materials. Mark is glad he chose a long-term solution to protect his home from the consequences that typically come with having a dirt crawl space.

A homeowner in Hutchinson, MN, noticed that his floors had begun sagging and was unsure of the reason. To fix this issue, Eric recommended SmartDrain, a plumbing leak system that drains water away to a dry well, CleanSpace,  a vapor wall barrier, Drainage Matting, an extremely durable matting that creates a drainage space and thermal break between CleanSpace and the ground, Foamax, an insulation foam that helps control humidity levels, and SmartJack, that raises the floor back to where it originally was. After reviewing the proposal, the homeowner happily agreed and scheduled the installation date. 

In about a month, our Foreman, Jesus C., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. They installed 1 SmartDrain, 504 sqft of CleanSpace, 418 sqft of Drainage Matting, 210 sqft of Foamax, and 1 SmartJack. After they were done, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.

First, the crew began by making sure the crawl space was ready for installation. Next, the crew shifted to installing the SmartJacks. Once the SmartJacks were secured, the crew laid Drainage Matting on the floors. Then, the crew installed CleanSpace on the crawl space floors.
