Radon Mitigation System Installed in Raymond, MN
Andrew W. of Raymond, MN got his home tested for radon and his radon levels came back between 11 and 16 pCi/L. He wanted to get a quote for a Radon Mitigation System installed in his home, so he contacted American Waterworks and scheduled a FREE estimate with our Design Specialist, Jesse Williams. Jesse went to Andrew's home, drew out a plan for where the system should be installed, and determined the price of the system. After a thorough discussion, Andrew felt confident in Jesse's plan, so he moved forward with the project and got a date scheduled for the installation.
Our Foreman, Geno Mclain, and his crew installed PVC piping from the basement, up, until they got to the outside of the home. At that point, they installed our Radon Mitigation System, which is the heart of the system. If the system isn't working, then radon is not being pulled from within the home. Each system is different depending on the structure of the home, which is something that the Design Specialist will discuss with the homeowner. Andrew was happy with the installation and had a great experience with our crew.

Radon Mitigation in Lynd, MN
Cassidy B. in Lynd, MN had her home tested for radon. When the results came back high, she started doing some research. She was happy to learn that American Waterworks can easily give an estimate and install a radon mitigation system. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Reed Hudson, to meet with Cassidy, inspect her home, and design a customized system.
Our Foreman, Dakota Merchlewitz, started the installation process by drilling a hole in the slab foundation of the home and connected a PVC pipe. The radon gas is drawn upward and the pipe guides it to the fan. The fan draws and vents radon safely above and away from the home. Cassidy was impressed with the quick installation and is glad she took the necessary steps to protect her family.

Radon Mitigation System Installed in Valley City, ND
A couple from Valley City, ND got in contact with us when they decided they wanted to get their house tested for Radon gas. Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that has become the second leading cause of lung cancer, second only to cigarette smoke. The couple knew that testing for the dangerous gas was incredibly important. When they called in, we set them up with our FREE estimate, entitling them to a thorough inspection of the issue by one of our Design Specialists. Once the appointment had been set, our Design Specialist from our Fargo branch, Kole, headed out to the property. When he arrived, he informed the homeowners that he would be leaving a charcoal test behind for 48 hours. He went on to say that the test would sit in the home and at the end of the 48 hours, would be able to tell the levels of Radon in the home. Once the 48 hours was up, the couple sent their test out, and it came back measuring 7.9 pCi/L. Kole informed the couple that the World Health Organization recommends taking action to fight Radon at a 2.7 as 1pCi/L of Radon is equal to 2.5 cigarettes smoked a day. Kole recommended that the couple looks into installing a Radon Mitigation System in the home. He explained that this system works to pull Radon from the home and then pipe it up and outwards from the home. The couple quickly agreed and work began shortly after.
Our Fargo-based Foreman, CJ, and his crew worked quickly and efficiently to install the new system in the home. Once work was complete, the couple was relieved to know that their Radon issue had been addressed and dealt with.
