Garage Wall Cracks Addressed in Grey Eagle, MN

Jim, a Grey Eagle, MN homeowner, had bowing walls in his garage that needed stabilizing. After looking at what American Waterworks does, he scheduled a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Shane. Shane went to the home to inspect the problem and devise a solution. After thoroughly examining, Shane explained that water-saturated soil can sometimes exert enough pressure to cause foundation walls to bow, bulge, or tilt. Shane suggested that Jim invest in Power Braces to permanently stabilize the wall and SmartJacks to restore and straighten sagging floor joists to combat this. Jim was confident in Shane's proposal and went ahead with the project.

Our crew, led by Foreman Matthew, headed to the property shortly after and got to work. First, they installed 1 7'10' SmartJacks. The SmartJack system restores stability and straightens sagging floor joists, which can be adjusted over time to provide additional straightening and leveling if necessary. Next, the team installed 11 of our PowerBraces to repair the failing wall. Our PowerBraces are designed to straighten walls and can be tightened by the homeowner over time to ensure the walls stay straight. Since this system has a special zinc coating, corrosion is not an issue. Our PowerBraces can be installed with no disruption to outside soils or landscaping. It installs quickly in the home, immediately halting the inward movement of foundation walls. Jim was impressed with the project's efficiency and quality of work, and he was glad to know that his bowing wall was no longer an issue.

Foundation Repair Fix in Marshall, MN

Kimberly and Nick T. of Marshall, MN had a small home that they rent out, and their foundation walls were beginning to bow inward. They didn't know why and they wanted to get the problem fixed. They scheduled a FREE estimate with one of our Design Specialists. Our Design Specialist went to their rental home, inspected their foundation wall, and gave them some of our foundation repair system options that would work for their needs. Kimberly and Nick liked the design of our GeoLock Wall Anchors, so they followed through with the project.

Our Foreman and his production team began the installation by digging holes outside of the home beyond the foundation. Inside the basement, our team inserted long, metal rods from the inside to the outside of the home where each hole was. At the end of the rod in the soil, our team installed an anchor plate, which holds the rod in place. Next, from the inside of the basement, our crew installed a GeoLock Wall Anchor to end rod, enabling the wall to stabilize and straighten back out to its normal position. This three-part combination makes for an effective result and ensures the home will no longer need to depend on a bowing or tilting wall. To complete the installation, our Foreman and his team backfilled each hole, compacted the soil, and left the yard and basement looking neater than when they found it.

Not only do we perform work in foundation repair. We also provide services in basement waterproofing, crawl space repair/encapsulation, radon testing/mitigation, and concrete lifting/repair. Call us today or click HERE to request a free estimate with our Design Specialist team!

Failing Foundation Finds a Fix in Marshall, MN

A Marshall, MN, homeowner had noticed several cracks running down his foundation walls over the years. He did not want to worry about the problem any longer, so he decided to find a foundation repair company out of Minnesota. After he found our website, he signed up for his FREE estimate, and several weeks later, our Design Specialist was headed out to the home.

Our Design Specialist got right to work assessing the basement. When he finished, he was ready to make his recommendation, our CarbonArmor system. He explained that foundation wall cracks and bowing basement walls are signs that your foundation requires repair. CarbonArmor® straps are a quick, affordable way to stabilize block and poured concrete walls that have cracked and that are showing signs of bowing. Our installers determine the number of straps required depending on the pressure being exerted and the length of the affected wall. The super strong carbon fiber straps are then attached to the wall with epoxy. While this method does not restore a bowed wall to its original plumb state, it will halt further movement and cracks. And because the straps don't protrude from the wall the way I-beams do, the repair can be easily covered with mortar, paint, or light wall panels. The homeowner liked the sound of our Design Specialists plan and signed on the spot.

On the day of the project, our Foreman, Raul B, led his team through the successful installation of 13 CarbonArmor strips throughout the basement. Now, our customer can breathe easy knowing his foundation worries have been halted!

Stablize Basement Wall in Brooten, MN

A homeowner in Brooten, MN, was prepping their home for the incoming winter seasons when they noticed a stairstep crack ascending their south basement wall. Uneasy about the discovery, the homeowner without hesitation searched for a company to fix this issue. The homeowners came across our website and signed up for a FREE estimate. We sent our Service Technician, Marc, to take a look at the wall and propose a solution to the homeowners. Marc determined that the south block wall would need to be stabilized with two PowerBraces and footings would need to be poured for each PowerBrace. Foreman, Juan, and his crew successfully positioned the PowerBraces underneath the stairs and inspected the crawl space. The homeowners were very pleased with the crew's work and American Waterworks is happy to leave another customer satisfied.

Cracking in Basement Walls Stabilized in Balaton, MN

A homeowner in Balaton, MN, was down in her basement doing laundry when she noticed the large cracks forming along her basement walls. Worried that it could worsen, she began her research for services in the area. She found our website and was impressed with our reviews and "Before and After" stories. She immediately contacted us and claimed her FREE estimate. In a couple of weeks, our Design Specialist, Eric H. traveled to the home to assess the foundation.

Eric had informed the homeowner that the moisture content of the soil caused it to expand and put pressure on the wall. When that pressure exceeds what the wall can withstand, it is common to see cracking, bowing, tilting inwards, and sliding at the bottom of the foundation wall. Eric suggested our PowerBrace, steel-I beams that will stabilize walls in their current position. The PowerBrace is customized to fit the height of the wall. Then, the top of each brace is attached to the top of the wall using a specially designed bracket that is bolted to the floor joist. This bracket contains a large-diameter bolt for adjusting and tightening after the installation. The steel-I beam is then straightened before it is attached to the floor. Once it is attached to the floor, the brackets that anchor each I-beam to a floor are tightened. This forces a tilted or bowed wall back to its vertical and straight position. It can also be tightened over time to make bowing or tilting walls straighter. The homeowner was thankful for Eric's explanation and solution and agreed to his plan.

In about a month, our Foreman, Jeremiah F., and his team arrived at the home to install 11 PowerBrace's in the basement of the home. Now, our customer can happily do her laundry, knowing that her walls are secured.
