Wet Crawl Space in Wichita, KS Dry Again
Homeowner Joan F. was tired of the musty smell in her home. She would notice it when she was gone for an extended time and then notice the smell upon return. She was ready to fix this permanently and gave Thrasher a call.
System Design Specialist AJ LaVoie went out to Joan’s home. He was able to see that there was water intrusion in the crawl space that was causing the musty smell. The crew installed a full perimeter drain line system in the crawl space and tied together with a SuperPump system. We then encapsulated the entire crawl space with CleanSpace to permanently separate the outside from the rest of her home. We finished this project by burying her discharge line from the sump pump. Joan was happy to never have to the musty smell in her home again!
Crawl Space Encapsulation in Eastborough, KS
This homeowner recently purchased their house. Upon purchase, they were aware that the crawl space had moisture in it. After noticing their allergies flared up since they moved in, it was time to get professional help.
We were the third company to look at the problem. The first company said that the crawl space was not tall enough for them to work in. The second company said the crawl space was too wet for them to inspect. But here at Thrasher, we're willing to get a little dirty and do our best to help.
After we inspected the crawl space, we determined that this crawl space had a high moisture content in the soil and a faulty sump pump installed.
To fix these issues, we encapsulated the crawl space using CleanSpace and a drainage mat. We also replaced the faulty sump pump with a Triple Safe Sump Pump. And lastly, we installed a SaniDry Sedona to reduce humidity and purify the air.
The customer was grateful we were willing to help them and said the SaniDry made a noticeable different within the first 24 hours.
Back Patio Concrete is Given a Lift in Wichita, KS
Jenni W. has been unable to use her backyard pool to settling concrete on the deck. The concrete was settling right next to the pool and she was worried it would become a tripping hazard. She decided to give Thrasher a call to see if we could lift the concrete.
System Design Specialist Max Huggins went out to the home and was able to come up with a solution for the deck. The team was able to lift and level the concrete with PolyLevel and then apply NexusPro Sealant to the joints to seal up the cracks to prevent water from getting into the concrete. Jenni was not only happy with the work done but impressed with the communication and thoroughness from the crew.
Foundation Repair in Lindsborg, KS
Jill is a homeowner in Lindsborg, KS, and needed some foundation repair. Her foundation was cracking and splitting in multiple locations, so she decided to call Thrasher Foundation Repair. System Design Specialist Austin Ure went out to Jill’s home.
During the inspection, Austin was able to see that the cracking and splitting that Jill saw had also caused large cracks to form upstairs as well. The crew installed Push Piers to stabilize the foundation. Once the Push Piers were installed Jill was glad to have gained peace of mind knowing her foundation was supported and stabilized.
Sagging Floors in Belle Plaine, KS
Did you know having very heavy items in your home can cause your floors to sag? This is what happened to LeAnna's home. She had recently put in new tile and drywall, only to have it crack again. It was time to get to the bottom of it. She called Thrasher and we came out to find out what was really going on in this home. Jason White found the home had a very large crawl space without much support. Without that support, things like heavy furniture upstairs will make floors sag.
It's an easy fix, though. We installed SmartJacks and supplemental beams in her crawl space to help fully support the floor and the weight.
LeAnna was so happy with the results and that the crew was able to get the floor within 1/16" throughout her home.
