A homeowner in Pepperell, Massachusetts, had lived in their home for almost 50 years. The home was built in 1949 and the homeowner had done some remodeling during the time living in their home. Over the past two years, they have noticed some of the finished work in the first level of the home begin to crack and slope. They would like to have the supports in the crawlspace looked at. The homeowner reached out to EFS for a free inspection and our design specialist recommended installing SmartJacks into the crawlspace to support the floor above.
SmartJacks and Auxiliary Wall, Groton, MA
This homeowner in Groton, Massachusetts recently got their oil tank installed in the basement. When the tank was being installed the homeowner noticed that the rock wall near the oil tank was crumbling and chunks appeared to be falling off the wall. The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection.
Design Specialist Kenny Calabrese inspected the basement and the rock wall foundation. Kenny confirmed that the wall is crumbling and recommended a solution. Kenny had noticed some of the support posts in the basement seemed weak. Kenny's recommended solution is to install an Auxiliary wall to the section of the wall that is crumbling and to replace some of the supports in the basement with SmartJacks.

The EFS team first supported the home using temporary posts. They then chipped away the old foundation wall down to the footing. Next, they poured a new footing. Once the footing was set they started building the masonry wall.
