Quality 1st Basement Systems inspected the basement and noticed that the crack spanned almost the entire width of the basement! Wall Anchors were used to repair this foundation crack. This wall has now been stabilized and will return back to its original position as the Wall Anchors are tightened.

Sagging Crawl Space Floors in Ocean Gate, NJ

A homeowner in Ocean Gate, New Jersey noticed their floors were sagging in the upper levels of the home. Sagging floors are a common sign of a foundation issue. This can happen because when crawl space columns are spaced too far apart, the beam can become overloaded and sag between the columns. This means this girder sags with it and so does the floor above.

The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Joseph Mancini, was able to provide an inspection and help them find a plan to fix this issue. He suggested they use a steel support system in the crawl space to assist the columns in supporting the home. Our foreman, Wilver Cardoza, used The SmartJack System in the crawl space to lift the floors above to their original position. This process is done by assembling the components and tightening the SmartJack system into place. The support beam and floor joists are immediately stabilized and lifted to their original position. This system is not to replace the existing columns, but to add strength and stability to what is there.
