A homeowner in Ocean Gate, New Jersey noticed their floors were sagging in the upper levels of the home. Sagging floors are a common sign of a foundation issue. This can happen because when crawl space columns are spaced too far apart, the beam can become overloaded and sag between the columns. This means this girder sags with it and so does the floor above.

The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Joseph Mancini, was able to provide an inspection and help them find a plan to fix this issue. He suggested they use a steel support system in the crawl space to assist the columns in supporting the home. Our foreman, Wilver Cardoza, used The SmartJack System in the crawl space to lift the floors above to their original position. This process is done by assembling the components and tightening the SmartJack system into place. The support beam and floor joists are immediately stabilized and lifted to their original position. This system is not to replace the existing columns, but to add strength and stability to what is there. 

This Kearny, NJ home was undergoing some sagging floor issues, so we installed the SmartJack Support System as the best solution. This Middletown, NJ homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems requesting a visit with one of our Foundation Experts. They were noticing small horizontal cracks along with exposed basement wall and wanted to speak with a specialist on the proper way to repair and prevent future damage to the foundation. With a slight bowing of the concrete block basement wall and horizontal cracking, reinforcement of the wall with CarbonArmor straps seemed the best solution, a low profile fix that gets bonded to the wall with a relatively quick install as no exterior excavation is neeeded. Foreman Esau Aquino and his crew installed the state-of-the-art straps to stabilize the foundation.
