Cracked and Bowing Walls in Goshen, OH

Here we have a foundation wall that has a big horizontal crack from the wall progressively bowing in over time. You can see the owner tried to spray some type of foam in the crack, which didn't help much at all. The type of foundation is block concrete, which we commonly see struggle with bowing issues. However, because the top and bottom parts of the wall have not begun to slide inward, we can install PowerBraces to save the wall. It's important to note that PowerBraces rely on the floor joists and the basement floor for strength. That's why it's important neither the top or bottom parts of the wall are structurally weak. Furthermore, here at The Basement Doctor, we make sure we distribute the weight evenly at the floor joists, so no damage occurs to the joist system. PowerBraces can be installed in a day, and can even sometimes straighten the wall completely out over time.

Severely Cracked and Bowed in Wall in Goshen, Ohio

This concrete block wall foundation was severely bowed in. However frightening it looks though, we are able to fix this problem relatively easily with our PowerBrace system. Because the top and bottom of the wall have not begun to slide in, we are able to install steel our patented I-beams, which are different from other systems. They are different because they are specifically engineered to distribute the weight of the bowed in wall across the basement floor and the floor joists in the basement ceiling, not allowing for further damage to your floor joists. Here you can see that the PowerBraces have already begun to revert the wall back to its normal shape. They are also flexible enough to be installed around appliances, like the fuse box seen in the pictures.
