The floorboards above this crawl space were sagging and cracking because the concrete block columns supporting them were sinking into the soil. Prolonged dry weather had caused the soil to shrink, creating gaps that allowed the concrete blocks to settle further into the ground. With the blocks no longer able to hold the weight of the home's first floor, the structure began to fail.

The homeowners attempted a DIY fix, using a makeshift arrangement of 2x4s and cinder blocks. Unfortunately, this approach lacked the stability and strength needed to support the crawlspace or anchor securely to solid ground.

To solve the problem, we installed our SmartJack Crawl Space Support System. SmartJacks are designed to prevent sinking by distributing the load across their uniquely engineered, bulb-shaped foundation. They're also adjustable, ensuring that the floors remain level and supported over the long term. With SmartJacks in place, the homeowners can now rest assured that their floors will stay strong and stable for years to come.

This pier underpinning project to stabilize this sinking foundation required us to tear down a fake wall. This homeowner was a previous client of ours when we stabilized the backside of their garage. They were happy with the job we did, so they had us out again to install more piers. This time, we stabilized the front side. This sunroom had settled away from the rest of the home causing gaps, cracks, and other problems for the room. We stabilized this room by installing nine push piers around the perimeter of it. The push piers will ensure that this room stops settling. We installed three of the push piers on the left side of the room through the concrete patio. We then covered the patio with concrete, concealing the piers completely.

This chimney was starting to tilt away from the home, leaving the sealant between the chimney and the home compromised. If left unattended, the chimney could become damaged beyond repair. Luckily, the homeowner gave us a call so we could fix it with our peer underpinning system right away. Now, the chimney is stabilized and lifted back to where it was originally built. The homeowner can now seal the chimney for good.
