Jonathan R. called Cantey about Issues with his home being unusually humid inside. He told us that he had been constantly sick for a little over a month when the rain season started in Columbia. We asked him if he had any inspections done before and he said he had not, but this was never a problem for him before. After we inspected his crawlspace, we found mold and very damp soil under his home. Few people know whether they have mold under their house or not, but the only way you can know for sure, is if you have a Cleanspace or not. We changed out his Dehumidifier that was almost as old as the house was, cleaned out all signs of mold and encapsulated his crawlspace with our Cleanspace so the mold would never come back. After only a week, he said he lost his cough and stuffy nose. "I almost forgot what it was like to breathe clean air without going outside," said Jonathan. "I didn't think I was ever going to get over that."

Lamar S. has been an administrator at his church in Columbia, SC for a long time. When he retired he wanted to use his time to help others and found that opportunity with the church. Since being there he has helped the church grow with different events as well as finding new space for the growing congregation. About 10 years ago, he was able to get a gymnasium built for the church for the after-school program and youth group to use. It was a wonderful addition that has been used continuously since its completion. Recently, however, water has been making its way in, causing the floors to become a safety hazard. Lamar knew he had to take action to keep church members safe. He did some research on the Internet to see what companies he could trust to find the right solution. Cantey Foundation Specialists came up and Lamar called in to schedule an appointment. System Design Specialist Jason Hugg arrived as scheduled and did a thorough inspection. He found that the gymnasium needed Cantey's SmartSump to pump out the water that was finding its way in, to an outside drain. Lamar agreed that this solution felt like the best course of action and scheduled an installation date. Production Team Leader Aubrey McJunkin, Production Team Member Oscar Mota, and Production Team Member Francisco Lopez came out and successfully installed the SmartSump. Lamar and his fellow church members are now free from the hazard that was preventing them from enjoying fun and fellowship. 

Jeff and Linda W. just moved into their Chapin, SC home a year ago. They had previously lived up North but decided to relocate to South Carolina after they retired. They chose just the right home in a quiet neighborhood that even included a basement. They decided to use the basement as a storage area. When they moved in, they put some things in the basement like holiday decorations that they did not need at the moment. A few months later when Linda went into the basement, she found that water had ruined some of their things. They had no idea that this was a problem but knew they needed to find a solution. Since they did not know the area very well or what company they could call, Jeff did a search online. He found Cantey Foundation Specialists and gave them a call to set up a free inspection. System Design Specialist Jason Hardage arrived for the scheduled appointment and did his inspection in the basement. Jason determined that Jeff and Linda needed Cantey's SmartSump system and a French drain installed to rid their basement of water. Jason explained that the SmartSump would be installed by removing a section of the floor in the basement. It would then sit below the surface and collect the water in the basement with the assistance of the French drain. As the water runs into the SmartSump, it is pumped to the outside. Jeff and Linda felt confident in the solution Cantey had provided them and scheduled an installation date. Production Team Leader Jonathan Lowder, Production Team Member David Herbert, and Production Team Member Matthew Kelley came out and successfully installed the SmartSump system. Jeff and Linda no longer have to worry about their storage area being filled with water thanks to Cantey's lasting solution.

Jerry B. has owned his home in West Columbia, SC for a few years now. He loves his quaint home on its quiet street that makes for his perfect home. Jerry has done several repairs to the home but never thought about the condition of his crawl space. He had a routine check for termites which determined that there were no termites but extensive termite damage to the beams under his home. He called his brother to see what he could do and he recommended Cantey Foundation Specialists. Jerry called Cantey and set up an appointment with System Design Specialist Jamie Beresford. Jamie came out for the scheduled inspection to find that there were quite a few beams that needed to be replaced. Jamie assured Jerry that Cantey often does wood replacement in crawl spaces and could have the damaged areas fixed like new. Production Team Leader Israel Santana, Production Team Member Jonathan Lowder, and Production Team Member Matthew Kelley came out and successfully replaced all the damaged wood. Jerry has a better understanding of his crawl space health and is now doing regular checks to make sure it is in great condition.

Garrett B. Called with problems about his floor bowing when he would walk over it. We came out and found that most of his main support beams were rotten and needed to be replaced. By replacing the joists, we were able to provide him the comfort of not falling through his floor in his space of peace.
