Wet basement repair in Falls Church, Virginia
In Falls Church, Virginia, local homeowner Joe noticed puddling in his basement after a major rainstorm. He had to move all of the furniture in his finished basement to the middle of the room because he didn’t know where the water was coming from, as seen in the before photo.
He immediately called Fortress and scheduled a free estimate. We sent one of our experienced system designers out to evaluate the problem, and the answer was clear: groundwater intrusion. A proposal was put together, and a solution was agreed upon - WaterGuard tied into a SuperSump Plus system along with a SaniDry dehumidifier.
Nick, the foreman on the job, got to work and demoed the walls just enough to expose the foundation walls and create a clean work area. He then carefully pulled back the very damaged carpet and installed our system, as seen in the after photo.
Joe was disappointed the water intrusion happened in the first place, but relieved knowing his basement is now protected by our lifetime of the structure warranty - and excited to remodel his man cave once again.
Our Sump Pump vs. Others in Arlington, VA
This homeowner in Arlington, Virginia had been dealing with water in his basement. He attempted to remedy the basement flooding issue with an inefficient open sump pump. Not only could this generic sump pump not keep the basement dry, but it not being sealed properly posed other issues. The open sump allowed moisture from the water it did collect to escape out into the space, which was causing the air to be humid and smell musty. He decided he needed a permanent fix, so he called Fortress Foundation Solutions. Our system designer went to the home and gave a free estimate and designed a system to remedy the problem. Fortress installed a waterproofing system that included our SuperSump pump, which is capable of pumping 2,200 gallons of water per hour. This SuperSump was installed with our UltraSump battery back up system that continues to pump up to 11,500 gallons of water during a power outage. All of our sump systems are air tight so moisture and smells can't escape into the air of the home.

Waterproofing upgrade in Alexandria, Virginia
In Alexandria, Virginia, homeowners Amy and Richard were experiencing water intrusion, as seen in the before photo, even though they purchased the home with an existing waterproofing system already installed. Unfortunately, the phone number for the original company was out of service, and the company that installed the system had gone out of business - leaving the homeowners with no one to honor the warranties.
Knowing they needed a professional, long term solution, they reached out to Fortress Foundation Solutions. Cara came out to perform a full evaluation and offered the homeowners something they couldn’t resist: a Lifetime of the Structure Warranty that is fully transferable and backed by our well established nationwide network.
The Alexandria homeowners agreed, and Gustavo and his crew got to work removing the failing system and installing a Fortress solution done the right way. As seen in the after photo, they upgraded from a small single pump sump system to our TripleSafe sump pump system featuring three pumps and a battery backup for added protection and peace of mind.
Clean Crawlspace and Clean Air
This homeowner's crawlspace was in bad shape. It was holding a lot of moisture, causing the insullation to fall and the air quality to be less than ideal. A damp crawlspace can also threaten the integrity of the home by weakening the floor joists and beams. They called Fortress Foundation Solutions for help. Our systems designer went out and gave them a free estimate and proposed a solution to save their crawlspace. A crew installed a full encapsulation using our CleanSpace vapor barrier and SilverGlo insulation. They also installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, which acts as an air purifier as well as a dehumidifier. This crawlspace is now safe from moisture and critters and has been turned into a usable space for storage. On top of all that, the homeowners can have peace of mind that they are breathing the cleanest air thanks to the SaniDry Sedona.
