Push Piers Fix Gaping Hole in Wall

What started out as a small problem became much worse after years of putting off fixing the issue. An entire portion of the concrete wall separated and settled around 2 inches, creating a huge hole in the wall. Push Piers were installed in order to lift the home back toward its original position and close all wall cracks. Wall Anchors were also installed to further prevent cracks from appearing.

Pressure from soil on the foundation walls of a basement can cause the walls to bow, lean and crack.  Cheryl S. noticed cracks and areas where parts of her wall had crumbled away so she called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended installed Geo-Lock Wall Anchors.

The Geo-Lock Wall Anchors were installed along Cheryl’s cracking walls. Steel wall plates are connected to anchor rods that are driven through the wall and attach to earth anchors in the yard. They are tightened to permanently stabilize the walls and can straighten walls in most cases.

Cheryl S. is glad to know her walls are safe from any future damage and are stable.

Richard B. of Granite City, IL had tried patching the cracks in their foundation walls but new ones kept forming. He was worried that might mean there was a larger underlying issue so he called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended installing Geo-Lock Wall Anchors.

The Geo-Lock Wall Anchors that were installed along the crack walls will permanently stabilize the walls in position by counteracting pressure on the outside of the walls that causes cracking and tilting. Over time, the walls can be straightened by tightening them during dry periods.

Dana C was concerned when she noticed that her basement walls were beginning to bow. So, she decided to call Woods Basement Systems. System Design Specialist David P was able to come up with a solution to the problem.

Foreman Jeremy R installed a Geo-Lock Wall Anchor System, shown above, in Dana’s basement. The Wall Anchor has two different ends. One will attach to stable soil away from the house, and the other will attach to the basement walls. The device can be tightened and overtime will straighten the walls.
