Mold on Outdoor Porch Ceiling in Evansville, IN

In Evansville, IN a couple noticed mold growing on the ceiling of their porch. It was a screened-in porch that sat on a crawl space. For this to start, there needs to be moisture and humidity. When mold finds the right combination of temperature, food source, and moisture, they grow. As mold grows, it reproduces more airborne seeds to grow more mold. These seeds are like tiny parachutes that float through the air. The couple was ready to begin the mold remediation before it fully covered the ceiling.

A fungus wipe-down was required to remove the mold. All surfaces affected by the mold are scrubbed off with a brush and then sprayed for protection. Yearly maintenance is encouraged to make sure the home is staying protected and no areas were missed.  Once the job was finished, the homeowners stepped out to the porch with big grins on their faces. It feels good to live in a mold-free home!

Basement Wall Pushing Out in Tell City, IN

In Tell City, IN a homeowner contacted us regarding bowing walls in his basement. According to the homeowner, it has been that way for 40 years but has recently been getting worse. Foundation problems occur with poured concrete walls not because the wall is weak, but because the connection between the top of the wall and the rest of the house is weak. This issue called for professionals like Healthy Spaces to take care of the problem!

Basement walls not only support the weight of your home but also resist pressure from soil, moisture, and other forces. The Wall Defenses strip was used to permanently protect the block foundation wall from bowing. It is made from carbon fiber-reinforced polymers with a tensile strength that is much stronger than steel. Once this system was installed, the homeowner saw a HUGE improvement!

Unlevel Floors and Foundation Settlement in Bristow, IN

In Bristow, Indiana, a family was in desperate need of repairing the foundation of their home. One of the family members reached out to Healthy Spaces informing us that the was sinking and the floors were unlevel. For the foundation to be restored to its natural position, it needed a permanent solution.

The push pier system is a great system when lifting the home back up to its original position. To install the system, the soil needs to be removed from around the foundation's footing, where the pier will be installed. Next, a specially engineered steel bracket is placed under the footing for the steel pier sections to be driven through. The weight of the home will then be transferred from the concrete foundation, through the steel bracket and piers, to the deep load-bearing soil or bedrock. The family felt a sense of peace that their home would not be a risk anymore.

Foundation Repair and Basement Waterproofing in Evansville, IN

In Evansville, Indiana a homeowner reach out to Healthy spaces needing a quote. His basement had water leaking in due to a rainstorm that happened recently. During the inspection, stair-step cracking on the walls was present which was partly the culprit behind the water leaking in. The foundation needed to be repaired along with waterproofing the walls and installing a drainage system.

The WaterGuard system was installed to catch any water that seeped through the walls. It will then carry the water toward the SuperSump pump. This handy system is covered with cement while flooring can be laid on top for a finished look. CleanSpace was put on the walls to protect the vapor barrier and direct water vapor to the WaterGuard. Two separate foundation repair products were put in to fix inwards bowing on the lower halves of the walls or on the upper parts. The GeoLock Channel Anchors and GeoLock Wall Anchors were the best choices for this issue. Once the project was completed, the homeowner was safe to store items in his basement again!
