Shawn B installed an egress window after waterproofing his basement. These windows are large and allow natural light to flow in and transform a dark, muggy basement into a light, airy space. If you plan to create a basement bedroom, by law you are required to install an egress window. Shawn also opted to have us install SunHouse window wells to help protect your basement windows from the elements as well as a build up of dirt and debris.

This Mackinaw City, MI family called us because they were dealing with a serious water problem in their basement. Upon inspection, we determined that an installation of our CleanSpace system, WaterGuard system and our SmartSump sump pump was the combination for success. CleanSpace was used to seal off the basement walls from any water and hinder the growth of mold. Our WaterGuard system, a French drain system, was put below the floor and on top of the foundation footing to catch water and guide it to the sump pump -- our patented SmartSump. All in all, this family can now live comfortably knowing the lower level of their home is clean and dry. 

To get the water out of this Mackinaw City, MI basement, we at Ayers installed our patented IceGuard. The IceGuard grated discharge line protector allows for water to leave your sump pump and be dumped outside even in freezing months. This is a perfect solution for this house simply because of its geographic location, being that winters are very long and harsh. However, in any freezing temperatures, pipes can burst if you do not have IceGuard. This family can be assured that their basement will not be flooding due to a burst pipe for every winter they encounter.

Larry wasn't sure where the water in his basement was entering, but he needed to get it fixed. He called Ayers to learn about our waterproofing solutions and we sent our experts to his house. They recommended installing the WaterGuard drainage pipe system to prevent clogging. WaterGuard does this by sitting atop the footing, rather than alongside it. Larry is relieved to have a dry basement!

The problem with block basement walls is that they can easily sprout leaks. The block allows vapor and actual water to seep through, which can stain and water damage walls. That's exactly what happened to this restaurant in Sault Ste. Marie (see before picture). When the owner decided to waterproof the floor, he realized it was as good a time as any to fix up the walls as well.

Our BrightWall panels were the perfect solution. The paneling was attached directly on top of the previously stained walls, and it's clear that the white plastic is a much better look for the basement. On top of that, the basement walls are now completely waterproof. Water vapor and moisture may pass through the porous block walls, but they won't make it through the BrightWall paneling. Any water that does seep through the block walls will be drained into the restaurant's new perimeter drainage system and discharged outside. A good restaurant atmosphere usually refers to the actual dining area, but that's no reason why the rest of the place shouldn't look its best too.
