We got called to a home in Kalamazoo because their add-on had settled. The crawl space support was made out of a brick post with boards stacked on top. The product used is called a SmartJack. Placed at strategic points, the SmartJacks are anchored into the ground of the foundation with poured concrete. The tops are fixed to the ceiling support with load-bearing joints. The apparatus is tightened till constant support reenforces the rim joist.
