Raising Slanted Floor in Comstock Park, MI, with SmartJacks
Laurel's living room floor was slanted, and she wasn't sure how to fix it. She knew this was a sign of foundation issues, so she decided to call Ayers to learn about our solutions. Our experts stopped by and recommended installing the SmartJacks supplemental support system. Store-bought floor jacks often fail beneath the pressure of the home, but SmartJacks are designed to last. Each SmartJack is hot-dipped in galvanized steel, zinc-plated, and has a two-foot base depth to reduce load-bearing stress. Laurel feels better about her floor!

Supporting a Failing Foundation Wall in Allendale MI
This Allendale Charter homeowner bought this house as a rental property. A distracted driver hit the house and as a result, the foundation wall was pushed in. This wall is now weakening and not supporting the home. The homeowner wanted it fixed as soon as possible because he was worried about the structure. We used GeoLock Channel Anchors to stabilize the wall. Steel earth anchors are installed and steel rods are joined to them through the wall where channel anchors are secured to the floor and the other end of the rod inside your foundation wall. These anchors will permanently stabilize your wall and could return it to its original condition.
PowerBraces Support Bowing Wall in West Olive, MI
Jason called us when he noticed that sand was starting to work its way through large cracks in his block basement wall. Upon inspection, our team found a severely bowing wall. Horizontal cracks with large gaps were present. In fact, our system design specialist was able to stick his hand two knuckles deep into the crack. The main concern was that the wall would fail completely leaving Jason's backyard in his basement.
Our crew put in a series of 16 galvanized steel PowerBraces around the basement along failing walls. These PowerBraces extend from the floor to the floor joists above. The floor joists are reinforced in a way that ensure that the load on the braces is distributed evenly and floor above maintains its integrity. The PowerBraces have an awesome and tightening system that other I-Beams just don't have. It allows our service team or the homeowner to slowly adjust the PowerBraces over time during dry periods in a way that could potentially improve the condition of the wall over time and even bring it back to its original position in many cases.
Geo-Anchors Pull Back a Cedar Springs, MI Bowing Wall
The horizontal crack on this basement wall was the result of a bowing foundation. When soil expands, it puts extra pressure on the wall, which in turn bends inward. The bowing had gotten so bad that the owners couldn’t even open one of the doors in the basement. Our crew solved the problem with the Geo-Lock Anchor System in the after photo. The Geo-Lock Anchor System is made up of the wall plates in the photo and the Geo-Anchors that were placed about 15 feet away from the wall in strong, dependable soil. Each wall plate is connected to the Geo-Anchors with steel rod tie backs. The anchors will pull the wall back and resist the bowing motion.
