Water Leaking in Basement in Decorah, IA

Rebecca S. of Decorah, IA had water leaking into her basement for several years and she wanted to get it looked at and fixed up before it got any worse. She got in contact with our office staff and scheduled a free estimate with our Design Specialist, Rick. Rick went to her home, carefully inspected the problems she was having, and drew up a solution that worked for her and her home repair needs. She was confident in Rick's proposal, so followed through with the project.

Our Foreman, Tremaine, and his production team started the installation by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter with a jackhammer, forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard System, which is made to prevent water clogs and collect water leakage from basement walls. Next, our crew installed our FoamMax Wall Panels around the wall perimeter, which makes the walls look clean, provides comfort to the home, and reduces condensation for moisture protection. To complete the project, Tremaine and his team filled the open gaps with river rock and applied new concrete over them. Rebecca was thrilled with the work and had a great experience from start to finish!

Egress Window Added to Basement in Decorah, IA

A Decorah, IA, homeowner was in the process of transforming their unfinished basement into a living space. For the project to be code-compliant, the homeowner learned that they needed to have a means of egress in the basement. The homeowner took to the internet to look for an 'egress window well near me' and quickly found American Waterworks. After viewing other egress jobs we had done in the area, the homeowner decided to claim his FREE, no-obligation estimate

Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Ryan M, headed out to the home to perform his inspection. When he finished, he met with the homeowner to go over his findings. Ryan informed him that we could certainly add an egress window in the basement of the home. Our RockWell window wells offer an attractive alternative to ugly window wells while providing a safe, code-compliant basement egress. These window wells are a one-piece, rigid construction that will not collapse from backfill or allow water to leak through the wall walls. They're UV stable, rust, and rot-proof, and stand up to extreme temperatures. RockWell's egress windows feature durable, built-in steps that make it easy for your family to escape from your basement in the event of an emergency. A polycarbonate safety cover keeps leaves and debris out while allowing natural light and fresh air to enter the space. Finally, RockWell has mimicked the look of real stone so you don't have to look out of your new basement windows at a plastic-looking well. The homeowner was impressed with Ryan's approach and signed on the spot for the project.

A month or so later, our Foreman, Juan P, and his team were headed out to the home to install the egress window well. When they had finished the project, the basement was adorned with a new egress window well and our homeowner was thrilled to know his project could continue on schedule!
